access for today and you got called on - what's your ONE question?
'Coach...on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being 'I lament it every second' to 1 being 'I lament it every 8 seconds', how much do you miss having a QB like Josh Allen? Or even a semi competent QB?'
access for today and you got called on - what's your ONE question?
You keep saying Daniel gives you the best chance to win but the results, 0 wins in his last 6 home games, 0 TD passes and 1 TD scored overall in those games would seem to say otherwise.
What is the difference between Daniel and either of the other two QB's that you feel so confident in your statement that Daniel gives you the best chance to win?
You're going to get coach speak answers, regardless. The backup QBs are not answers. At best, they'd give the team a spark. But the truth is, wins aren't our friend here.
what real estate agent will you be listing your house with?
Have you thought about calling down to Oxford, MS and asking Joe Judge for the name of the pizza place he used to cater the post-firing going-away party he threw at his house?

Coach Brian Daboll said DL Dexter Lawrence, CB Adoree’ Jackson, CB Cor’Dale Flott and LB Ty Summers will not practice today, while P Jamie Gillan will punt off to the side. Everyone else will practice in some capacity.

Brian Daboll says nothing is developing at this time with free agent tackle D.J. Humphries after his early week workout. They’ve gotten to know each other… Josh Ezeudu will take the first left tackle reps again at practice today. Tracking toward a 2nd straight start based on what Jon Runyan Jr. said #Giants

Probable should just park the ambulance behind the end zone now.

So basically, there's more consideration for a pickup off the 49'ers practice squad than for Neal. Seriously, I should hope Neal is in consideration for a trade if there's no plans for the guy.

DL Dexter Lawrence (hip) and LB Ty Summers (ankle) weren't spotted at practice. Daboll made it sound like there won't be many mid-week practices in Lawrence's future.
CB Cor'Dale Flott (groin) and CB Adoree' Jackson (neck) were on the side with trainers. Daboll didn't sound overly optimistic about Flott's chances of playing Monday. P Jamie Gillan (hamstring) was also on the side. Daboll said he'd do some kicking today, but didn't sound like he'll be ready for Monday.
WR Jalin Hyatt (rib) and OLB Brian Burns (groin) participated in the open portion of practice.

Giants star DL Dexter Lawrence getting a rest day today, even though it'll officially be listed as a hip, which is legit just as it was last week.
As Brian Daboll said, the plan every week will be to get Dex as healthy as possible for game day going forward. Sounds smart.

Having walked out of Giants locker room Sunday with Brian Burns, it's hard for me to believe he is on the practice field today - but he is.
Would imagine Burns (groin) is a limited participant, but setting a standard with how he has gutted it out (and performed) past few weeks.
Dan Duggan
@DDuggan21
Daboll was still non-committal on the left tackle plan for Monday. He indicated Josh Ezeudu will be first up in practice with Chris Hubbard also getting reps.
Based on Daboll's answers on OT DJ Humphries' visit this week, it sounds like there's a financial divide there. The Giants only have $1M in cap space. Another restructure is coming regardless, but they may not want to meet Humphries' asking price.
Humphries is also coming back from a torn ACL in Week 17 last season, so he may not be physically ready.

Veteran OL Chris Hubbard will get reps at left tackle today, but Brian Daboll indicated Josh Ezeudu will still be first up for reps with the starters.
Especially for this week, if Ezeudu isn't the guy at LT, which is TBD, sounds like Hubbard would be next.
T.J. Watt Week not the time to move Jermaine Eluemunor off RT.

This guy is quickly becoming one of my favorite current Giants
#Giants100 Jones - most important thing is to win this game...the focus is on playing well ... coach told the team after the phily game that i was the starter going forward
Wait, does he mean BDs press conference or that he also addressed the team and said Jones was the starter? Because the latter doesn't sound like a great locker room situation
"Coach told the team after the Philly game that I was the starter going forward" sounds like the teacher's pet telling the class that they were left in charge while the teacher was using the bathroom....
the fans calls etc.. Now, if the locker room was asking for Jones to be replaced then that is a bad situation.
The wonder I have is could the Giants be looking for a reverse 2022? The organization I mean, believing that we are close if we just figure out the offense.
Below:
2022:
1st 8 games 6 wins and 2 losses.
Final 9 games 3 wins 5 losses 1 tie
2024:
1st 8 games (TBD Monday) could see us roughly the same 2-6 or 3 -5.
Last 9 games:
Was (might be without Daniels)
@Car (bad , bad team)
TB (road game for them, many injuries)
@Dal (bad team, could be falling a part)
NO (tons of injuries)
Bal (bad matchup for us)
@Atl (faltering some but the better team)
Ind (very beatable)
@Phil (very beatable and on the road better for us)
Truthfully I doubt the Giants will or even can make a move/run but yet, I suspect they are still thinking that way.
With our defense playing much better than expected they are somehow hoping to gather enough together offensively to make things work.
**I will save this for our preview podcast but I think I know what we are doing (planning to do) at QB and what we might do if we beat Pittsburgh.
Did Not Participate in Practice:
▪️ CB Cor’Dale Flott (Groin)
▪️ P Jamie Gillan (Left Hamstring)
▪️ CB Tre Hawkins III (Ankle)
▪️ CB Adoree’ Jackson (Neck)
▪️ DL Dexter Lawrence (Hip)
▪️ LB Ty Summers (Ankle)
Assuming Neal is healthy and there have not been any issues with his attitude, preparation, or effort. Might add a spark to the the running game.
He's hasn't taken a snap at guard. If they do this, it will be next year.
Stinnie would replace Van Roten.
I'm not saying your wrong for stating this is their logic, but their logic doesn't make any sense if true.
This is the 7th overall pick and possibly the consensus top overall OL in his draft class who played at Alabama. If they can't give him some reps over the course of a few weeks and put him at G or LT then what the hell are we doing? We're not exactly pushing for the playoffs here. To me this is an indictment of Neal, the coaching staff or both.
Right or wrong, they are not practicing him at guard. Only right tackle.
If he plays, it will be at right tackle for Eluemunor.
yeah, I think Neal is just not that good. Think of this year as an unofficial IR year for him..
It's not a question of talent. He missed the spring and summer. He only practiced a week or two before the season started and only at one position. Once they decided to start Eluemunor at RT, Neal's fate was sealed. I said it back in August.

Brian Daboll was complimentary of vet LT DJ Humphries, who visited with the Giants this week.
Hearing Daboll's praise, sounds to me like Giants would be up to bring Humphries aboard if price and health matched.
Doesn't sound like we should put a pin in balloon that just yet.
Is Neal just here for the free food? Is there any level of urgency to get our 7th overall pick on the field and contributing somewhere? Anywhere?
