It just occured to me this morning that the Giants have hosted ONE home playoff game since MetLife opened in 2010.
ONE!
24-2 win vs Atlanta, which propelled us to the Super Bowl.
14 years of that dump and we have hosted one playoff game.
Pathetic.
Carry on with your day.
They always said that. Both runs. Then after every game they were proven wrong it was
"Tampa Bay was overrated anyway"
Same with Dallas ... Green Bay ...
Lol their last home game in the playoffs was 2002 vs the Colts. They had another one vs the Tom Coughlin Jags in 1998. You'd have to go way back to find another home playoff game for them.
Beating Dallas the previous week was better
Not entirely his fault on that one.

For building one of the most bland, uninteresting stadiums in the country and then filling it with a bland, uninteresting team.
Not entirely his fault on that one.
On which one, the crappy stadium or the crappy team that inhabits it? I think they are both directly related to his love of half-measures.

Crappy stadium. Woody Johnson deserves equal share of blame.
I will refer it that way going forward.
agreed
Agreed.
And I blame that insufferable buffoon Johnson for the way the stadium looks. Reportedly the Mara/Tisch family was in favor of a more traditional brick facade, something in the order of the current facility on the other end of the parking lot.
The Jets organization, on the other hand, fresh off the West Side stadium failure, wanted something modern, slick, glass-and-steel. They also were vehemently against anything that could be perceived as Giants-centric. Which is the reason we have this totally antiseptic, soulless monstrosity that is only made worse by our overall lack of success in it.
Being better than the Jets at anything doesn't really make me feel much better about the past decade of Giants football
It's like getting a D, but being happy the annoying kid in class got an F

Drain public funds. That part should be commended
Agreed.

I think you're correct. I've heard a traditional brick facade was what NYG wanted to go with. The Jets were adamant that everything look as generic as possible so the lighting and "window-dressings" would make for easy makeovers from team gameday to team gameday. Mainly because they are so insecure as a franchise.
But like the old saying goes, you lie down with dogs you get fleas.
