I love listening to them at work when I'm really focusing.. so good. Can't wait to check out their new stuff.
Any reasons why the 8 year delay?
James Murphy is famously a perfectionist, and most of the band are in other bands (and/or DJ's). For the longest time it was suggested he was done making new music and would just do these mini-tours with what they had.
going to one of the Knockdown Center shows. I think this will be my 4th time seeing them. Their live shows are awesome. Even if you don't know their music it's fun/dance music.
is sort of a specific genre/style and I get it if people aren't into them but similar bands/recommendations from me would be Hot Chip (including Joe Goddard's solo stuff, his new album is great), !!!(Chk chk chk), Wet Leg, The Juan Maclean, Out Hud
The Four Horsemen. One of the other co-owners recently passed away. I've never been but they are known for an A++ wine list and everything I've ever heard it positive. Not sure if their policy has changed but they didn't take dinner reservations so both times we tried going it was a long wait and we bailed. They have a wine bar pop up at the Queens/Knockdown Center shows (and will again this year)

Interesting...I like both LCD and Wet Leg, but wouldn't have seen them as similar, but now that you mention it I can see their connection. Will check out the other names you mentioned.

Obviously, the two aren’t exactly alike but they have a similar vibe (Wet Leg have said they are big fans of LCD so that’s not exactly a surprise). I also really like this band Yard Act (I just saw them at Irving Plaza) (I do recommend checking them out, I’d recommend listening to “We Make Hits” and Dream Job). The youngins are really into this guy “The Dare” who is essentially a LCD rip but admittedly is very popular and becoming a big deal
