1. The offense is dreadful. Two tds in three games. One set up by a PI, the other a long run. We also had two other games this season without a TD (Dallas and Minnesota--we have one TD at home in four home games).
2. The offense kills itself with so many presnap penalties.
3. We constantly miss assignments and do not execute, whether it was the 2 point conversion last night or the missed assignment on TJ Watt. Good teams and good coaches make sure they execute. Parcells's mantra was you repeat it and repeat it until you get it right. Our team never does or at least it rarely shows up on gameday.
4. The play calling is horrific with constant check downs and throwing in front of the sticks.
I don't want to see this offense or him anymore. I can't take his explosions on the sideline on gameday, but obviously they are not putting in the work during the week with all these mistakes. Daboll has never been good outside Josh Allen at any stop and he is not good here. He needs to go (and so does his buddy Schoen). This team is just dreadful.
I think, for stability, they will try another season of DB and his offense with a either a vet QB who can function properly or with a draft choice.
But the lack of detail and preparation is alarming.
We will have a new QB next year and if Daboll's deficiencies will prolong the rebuild even longer. I really wish he would give up play calling at this point.
Kafka's play calling and the offense magically got better last year when Taylor and DeVito played. Maybe the same completely random coincidence will happen with Daboll's play calling if they put someone other than Jones in the lineup?
I would love to know what Daboll's internal evaluation of Jones was coming into this year. If he said he can win with Jones, he should be fired. We don't want that guy being part of the next QB pick.
It’s no coincidence, they are a badly coached and disciplined team. He runs a country club camp and locker room.
He has no feel for games too, just look last week, 3 hand offs to the RB in the 1st half. How can you expect to win like that???

especially when your RB might be the best player on your offense now that Thomas is injured.
Sorry, but they need some stability.
Play DeVito, I am so done with Jones.

at QB. That said I don’t care either way, just answering your question.

The offense got magically better because Thomas returned at LT and Barkley returned from injury as well.
Tomlin almost every year since Big Ben retired.

There were other alternatives at the time- one of whom happens to be leading the league in TD passes. They signed up for this, and they need to walk the plank for it. Daboll is nothing special and his GM is worse.
Do you see that on the All 22 or from TV? Not meant to be a snarky remark.
Even Bellichek stunk without a QB
Ok but then when the head coach becomes part of the reason the shitty QB is still here, what then?
How do we justify that Daboll should have wanted to see Daboll with a different QB?

with a terrible QB who’s HC looks like they are otherwise doing a good job?

You know that Daboll wanted Jones? because it didn't seem that way on hard knocks

So the guy with an already built culture and program? I guess you answered the question but the 1 example proves my point - you generally aren’t getting really competent and competitive football out of a team with a dreadful QB.
It’s fine to want to get rid of Daboll but if the next guy is saddled with 3 years of Jones, expect the same results.

Shurmur, Judge, Daboll, Schoen, Gettleman, is it mathematically possible for them all to suck? The only constant is Jones (and Mara's love for him). That is the issue
I dunno, I saw a guy reclined on a couch who put his feet up and said very little. We know he loved Daniels, great, we couldn't get him.
What about managing up to his buddy Schoen by making a case for one of the 3 QBs we passed on? What about making a case he could work with Darnold.
Schoen and Daboll are anything but the prisoners to Jones and the QB position that people make them out to be.

you have no idea what Daboll wants. But if I was a mind reader I’m willing to bet a large sum of money that Daboll thinks he sucks and has thought that for quite some time. In fact, I think there’s a HC in football that watches Jones and think he’s a guy you build a team around.

And part of this response was also for the post that mentioned what things "seemed like" on hard knocks..

Didn't Daboll say smoothing like “So we’re going into the season, same QB room?” That does not sound like an endorsement of Jones
Daboll has had plenty of opportunity to weigh in on the need for a quarterback.
He was part of the group that paid Jones and did nothing to challenge him. Daboll can go.
Well, to your point Schoen and Daboll have had 3 years to move on from Jones and still haven't. So why are we supposed to think they don't want him?
I liked that we saw some of that fire back from him last night. We need that, I think.
The team we just played.

Belichick once went 11-5 with Matt Cassell.
There is a percentage of the people in this forum who measure success by home many people get fired or cut. Virtual GMs who would manage the team with a stick of dynamite.

Natt Cassell wasn't a bad QB and that was at the height of the best roster he ever had.
Apples to apples, please

Moving goalposts but okay.
