No waivers ... he becomes a Free Agent because of how long he has been in the league ... He gets to pick the team he signs with ... Hopefully us having Spags factors in his decision
Can we please stop with all of this love for Jerome McDougle?
He's been in the league for 5 years now and hasn't accomplished anything, along with being injury-prone. And when is the last time the Eagles ever cut a player that amounted to anything on another team (not counting T.O.)?
The Giants are not that desperate for a DE that they would pick up just any scrub off of the street. Tuck will be fine, Kiwi will be fine, and I'd personally take someone like Renaldo Wynn over McDougle or any other piece of garbage that the Eagles would decide to leave by the curb.
Please, let's stop getting into a frenzy over what DE's will be available - there will be no one out there, even after cuts, worth getting remotely excited about. We're going to miss Osi, but the Giants are not in as bad of shape as some of you think.
let's say we had Osi still, and Stray, who among the remaining DE's would McDougal be comparable to? Who would be the McDougal WE would get rid of to complete the roster?
I'm asking because I don't remember having noticed his play and am trying to get a comparison to the guys I have noticed more, namely, ours.
as would many other teams. I don't see him coming here, the only thing is if he loves Spags, otherwise go somewhere you have a chance to start in a year or two.
is really having a good camp then I would definitely make an inquiry. And from his perspective, the Giants could be a good place to restart his career. He would be the third end, but would also at times be working when one or both of Tuck and Kiwi are on the field. Since either or both of them are likely to draw double teams, McDougle would get only one blocker, a fact which might allow him to get more sacks, hurries, etc. then he otherwise would. This would increase his value in the marketplace if he moved on after this season. Not to mention the fact that he would be able to play the Eagles twice a year.
I think the point about this being an attractive destination is dead on. We have a coordinator that the players rave about (and in this case, a former coach in the same system the player in discussion came from). He's being brought in for depth, but also to challenge for a spot in a rotation that used the third DE EXTENSIVELY last year.
On top of that,it means playing in New York, for the superbowl champs, and the added bonus of getting philly twice.
I would think we'd be a VERY attractive spot for him if we're interested.
hoping all out he would get another contract(reworked) and stick with the Eagles now that Parker or Thomas (whatever his name is) was hurt. Contract with the Eagles.

There's a MLB named Hayes?(51) who was ballin' and WR Jackson seemed to know his way around. This year was not your typical draft for Philly.
I would think we'd be an attractive choice.
