and while i agree little kitten is a dousche, Danny is right. If you don't respond he will go away. Every dumb comment he makes doesn't need to turn into a long argument. Only keeps him around
But Gerbil was overrated by many Giants fan... After that hit on Quincy Morgan, he was touted as the next Brian Dawkins...
He was nothing special after his rookie season...
He was labeled a ball-hawk after his rookie season and then realized that he's can't catch a cold...
I am not surprised that the defense was successful when Spaggs realized that both of his safeties were weaklinks and masked their weaknesses with blitz and other types of pressure...
Kenny Phillips will make us forget that Gerbil was even part of the Giants Superbowl team...
Ive been all over Royal for a month, stole him in my fantasy draft. But the simple fact that he was a rookie made me hesitant to start him this week in my 18 team league. The last spot went to Amani
Of course Royal is doing his thing on the first drive of his career
I used to watch VaTech all the time...I wasn't a fan but since Vick went there (I credit him with getting me interested in college football beyond UMich), I've kept up with the program. Royal is very fun to watch. Good player.
the guy hasn't won jack shit since Clinton was president. Spare me the sucking off of Elway's assistant. He's a good coach, who won two bowls and he deserves credit but shut the fuck up already.
And Cutler has one good drive and you're stupid analogy now officially holds water? Shut the fuck up already.
I agree, Greenberg isnt very polished, but I think he brings an 'every man" quality to it that I like. I might be biased because I do like the radio show though, I dunno.
everyone always bitch about the announcing? God watch the game and take it for what it's worth. I never paid attention to the announcing and could care less.
Are you in Santa Cruz? How do you watch the Giants? I'm trying to figure out how to do it from Cali, and since I can't get Sunday Ticket on my dorm TV, and the NFL doesn't have a MLB.TV equivalent, I'm basically down to going to a bar in Palo Alto to catch the games. That about right?
Cutler looks at his first option, who is covered, then to his RB, who is open, and then throws to Royal without really turning his head toward him. No telemarking.
I wonder if announcers are terrified to do Broncos games
I usually watch the games at an Irish pub in my neighborhood. There is a sports bar in Palo Alto that's decent... can't remember the name, but they charge a 20 dollar cover that in turn is reimbursed when you buy food. The food is mediocre, as most sports bars' food is.
There's a pretty good sports bar in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City that you may want to check out -- no cover charge there.
hop in his new, $90,000 car and drive to his new $2 million mansion. He's going to park in his 8 car garage and walk through all 45,000 square feet of new house with his head down. He'll enter the colossal master bedroom with the spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay, where he'll lie down on the king size bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, and he'll think........
"FUCK...I could still be playing for the Super Bowl Champs..."
I've attended exactly one Raiders game in my lifetime. It was against the Seahawks in either '98 or '99. The Raiders were ahead late and were in position to kick a makeable field goal to put themselves up by 8 or 9 I believe -- some score that would have made it very difficult for the Seahawks to win. And they went for it on 4th down! And they didn't make it! I've never heard such booing before or since.
What happens? The Hawks march down the field and score a go-ahead touchdown in the final minutes or so.
It was totally inexplicable. Madden-esque maybe, if Madden were played by monkeys randomly pressing buttons.
these announcers are terrible. Which dumbass executive had the bright idea to let Mike and Mike anywhere near an NFL booth? My ears are seriously bleeding here. Bring back Joe Theisman for God's sake...
thought the Raiders would pull off an upset tonight. What the Hell is wrong with me, this is going to cost me in most of the football pools I play. Shit.
This game could get very, very ugly. It should be worse than 10-0, but even if it's just 17-0 by the half, it's going to be damn near insurmountable with the way Russell and co are playing.
Gibril must be hating life right now. The Raiders are just embarrassingly bad.
I hope they get into another 1st-and-45 situation like I saw last year. It's just so rad to see the looks on their faces when such things happen -- you can't say that it even seems to surprise them.
I still can't believe I picked the friggin' Raiders in an upset tonight though. If I had money on the line and not just bragging rights in a football pool, I'd be slapping the shit out of myself right about now.
is that he'll look great making a Pass. Then he'll turn around and throw a crucial interception into double coverage. He has great potential but he needs to learn how to read coverage.
Well, even though it's week 1, think it's official that there are some very, very bad teams out there - e.g., Rams, 49ers, Raiders, Chiefs, Redskins to some extent, Lions to some extent, etc. Definitely, we need to win this week - just take advantage of the schedule and move on.
Is like a Grandmother that can't shut their mouth while the other adults are talking. Echoing everyone else's comments and nodding head, or just talking over them.
is that given Shanahan's sheer hatred of Al Davis, you really can't discount the possibility that he's calling repeated passes to Royal deliberately in an attempt to get severely into Deangelo Hall's head in an effort to make him go postal and gun down his teammates. I mean seriously, that very thought might have crosses Shanahan's mind.
really stupid fucking comment. You couldn't name me one person in America that would have turned down that kind of dough especially considering no other offers were close
Ditka made some sense - Raiders look poorly-prepared and poorly-coached, and there's no sign that things will get better
Curry absolutely sucks - that was a killer drop
What's weird - the Raiders look like they could run the ball down Denver's throat and just out-physical the Broncos' front 7. Al Davis continues to be a detriment to this team, and makes some awful coaching hires.
Meanwhile, Eddie Royal looks great and so does Cutler. Cutler's on my fantasy team (along with Favre and Aaron Rodgers) - and I just picked Royal up on waivers.
and I'm really tempted to pick up Royal but... I think this is just an aberration. This is the Raiders here. Shanahan DOES like to humiliate them. Royal may never get this much action until they play one another again.
No, I gotta pick up Aaron Rodgers instead to play over Kurt Warner.
He was so close to escaping that clusterfuck, then Skeletor shackled him and didn't let him go to the Jets. I feel sorry for him because he's actually a pretty good coach who routinely gets overruled by a total incompetent.
come on, 6M a year vs 3M a year is basically no difference unless you want to buy a bunch of worthless crap to try and impress others. The signing bonus alone from what the Giants likely offered is more than enough to never work again after retirement from the NFL. I for one would value winning while I played for the next 5 years much higher than some extra money to spend on cars and jewelry.
The only thing with Rodgers - Grant will probably run all over the Lions
Danny - yeah I should have told you that.
I picked last, and there was a run on QBs... so I got Cutler, Rodgers and Favre. Favre had the fewest points of the 3!
I know Royal won't do this again (until they play the Raiders in Denver) - but I'd be dropping Curry to pick him up - and I can't see Curry putting up squat in this offense
turning down about 10 million more then anyone would have offered would have been the dumbest thing ever.
I'm fucking sick of people sitting behind a computer telling other people what to do with their money. If you were in his position, you'd have taken the money too. And you absolutely should.
It's easy for us to say winning should matter more, but guess what, it shouldn't. When it's three million dollars a year, you owe it to yourself and your family to take the most money.
Why would Gibril have to spend the extra money on "jewelry and other shit"? Can't he invest his extra money wisely, so that when he retires from his job in this thirties, he'll have a safety net while he tries to find a regular job in the real world?
and it's not just about him. It's about having financial stability for his kids, too. He owes it to his family to take that kind of money. I could see turning down say a million dollars to go to somewhere you can win. But anything over that, no way. Absolutely take the money
think that things such as 1st-and-45 happen to every team.
I don't know why I found it so amusing when I saw it. It's just that the first down marker was on their opponent's 40... and the Raiders had the ball on their own 15. I'd never seen that before.
No. He wasn't making any sense, so we were just putting in filler. Someone said, "What if Ditka MC'd your party?" So I said, "What if Ditka was your wingman?" which led to "Tits murble murble"
the Oakland Raider need to throw the doggone balls here to their rookie. McFadden he utilzing his powerfully and his strong to run the doggone ball and score them Oakland folk some TDs ala me, Emmit Smith
But the first call gave us a dose of what lay ahead
Does

I feel like Oakland will play well to night...
DMAC!
Dubs : 10:18 pm
Did they switch to college rules under two minutes?
They have the potential to win that division if some things break right
Royal has had an amazing camp, made a catch there
j_rud, agreed re: Cutler.
Tackling the opponent 10 yards up the field... Another player that cashed in by being part of a Superbowl team...
He's average...
Kornheiser is AWFUL
He was nothing special after his rookie season...
He was labeled a ball-hawk after his rookie season and then realized that he's can't catch a cold...
I am not surprised that the defense was successful when Spaggs realized that both of his safeties were weaklinks and masked their weaknesses with blitz and other types of pressure...
Kenny Phillips will make us forget that Gerbil was even part of the Giants Superbowl team...
Gibril...busted coverage?
Of course Royal is doing his thing on the first drive of his career
There is a reason Reese didn't want to sign him... Reese didn't even gave him a courtesy offer...
2 catches, 42 yards, 1 TD
I wish more coaches had balls like Mike...
"He has a hole!...Oh, here he comes!..."
And Cutler has one good drive and you're stupid analogy now officially holds water? Shut the fuck up already.
I remember a game last year where the Raiders were faced with a 1st and 45.
I really think they are poised for a big season. I honestly think the AFC is wide open and they have a ton of talent
Just sayin'.
the ball was clearly across the line
Now they are trying to cover their tracks by saying it was an awful spot on the replay
There's a pretty good sports bar in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City that you may want to check out -- no cover charge there.
Mike and Mike 1

Done complaining about the announcers tonight
"FUCK...I could still be playing for the Super Bowl Champs..."
they didnt pay attention to where it was spotted, only where they thought it should have been spotted
Ripping the announcers is a BBI hallmark!
I can't believe they got that call.
would be a dream team of football announcing excellence.
I would really love to hear that combo...No third man...
I swear to God, this is a true story:
I've attended exactly one Raiders game in my lifetime. It was against the Seahawks in either '98 or '99. The Raiders were ahead late and were in position to kick a makeable field goal to put themselves up by 8 or 9 I believe -- some score that would have made it very difficult for the Seahawks to win. This is tragic lol.
Guest in the booth?
I actually miss that team. Never thought i would say that. They sucked but it was amusing. This is just bad
I honestly think they might be nervous and/or Ditka throws off their mojo?
Ditka:...(interrupting) Touchdown.
Greenberg: ...(interrupting) and he's got his man, no he dropped it.
This is actually fucking amazing.
See Jets, New York.
think that "illegal formation" penalties are dumb ... and should be done away with?
I do!!! So the WR was a little bit further back off the LOS???!!! Is THAT ... REALLy ... an advantage???!!!
I'd say NOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo!!!!
Illegal formation penalties need to be nixed!!! Plus you'd help to speed up the game by not having these dumb, inconsequential penalties!!!
I was pissed earlier because I had no beer in the house. Not anymore!
anyway, ja russell looks horrible; clueless.
Dubs : 10:27 pm
Is unfuckingbelievable. That could be up there with the best in the league.
Clearly, I haven't watched nearly enough Raiders football.
I hope they get into another 1st-and-45 situation like I saw last year. It's just so rad to see the looks on their faces when such things happen -- you can't say that it even seems to surprise them.
These announcers should stop acting like the players can hear them.
Add booze, 3rd quarter brawl, every time.
People drink it cause its readily available and cheap, not cause its delicious.
I know I didn't. Ever.
Golic and Greenberg sounded crestfallen as Sheffler raced down the field. Ditka sounded like he was sleeping.
It was like a guy was down and injured and not moving.
And generally making no sense.
LMAO
I thought he said something like, "Good job" right before he started giggling.
Mike & Mike & Mike & .... - ( New Window )

May be you can affort to buy a big screen tv to watch us in the playoffs.
Curry absolutely sucks - that was a killer drop

You know the question.
But I know I'll pick him up
I'm telling you, Shanahan is trying to instigate a mutiny.
Also, Eddie Royal is my hero.
Have you ever seen a coach open up his playbook for a rookie before? He's caught, ran, thrown and returned.
I wish the Broncos would sign Tim Carter tonight and throw a TD pass to him.
No, I gotta pick up Aaron Rodgers instead to play over Kurt Warner.
But, the checks are hard to pass up, he'll get one this week.
You're basically sending yourself to football purgatory by going to the Raiders.
Gibril would've been a complete idiot to pass up on that offer. He was ridiculously overpaid, the Giants didn't even bother making a counter offer.
But 10 catches is not.
Story developing...
making the VA Tech offense look.
Raider fan forum - ( New Window )
last time I was in Harrahs some lady rolled an old guy into the elevator wearing a towel on his lap. he reeked of piss.
you suck.
If they leave now, they could get home in time to hear this crappy announcing!
so terrible, he's great.
Please go for it
cut your losses and kick the FG
that should have come back.
Gibril with the personal foul.
they're gonna penalty the Broncos down the field after getting beat by their college running plays
How many times has "Oh boy" been said during this game? A flag was thrown, and Greenberg says, "Oh boy."
with the shoestring tackle from behind.
No two ways about it: that man is drunk.
seriously, WTF
Again, Ditka...no idea what you're saying.
-- Coach Ditka
this is one of the best games I've ever seen.
followed by more unintelligible rambling
behind Al and his pisstowel?
"Maybe not."
I cannot stop laughing
Ditka's voice is gone
"ExtenZe is designed to do one thing: make you larger, regardless of age!"
it's gonna be a great read
I have tears in my eyes!
throw it over the top, prolong the agony.
"OOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!"
and play for the team of his choosing
DITKA: "Hawwwagghhh!"
the "AFC POWER PYRAMID"?
dude, don't make it obvious you're picking up cues
.
-Mike Ditka
looked like they were thinking about it
I mean, this is priceless.
"This is the one murlbe murble murble"
Have a good night
Ditka: "Touchdown."
(Cutler throws it)
Greenberg: "And he's got his man...no he dropped it."
shit the bed, this is a far better recap of the game.
Tits murble murble, and to all a good night.
I host a weekly sports talk show at school with a huge Raiders fan...now I know why he's perpetually depressed.
"Decisive"
"One word: Russell"
"Embrace the process"
I don't know why I found it so amusing when I saw it. It's just that the first down marker was on their opponent's 40... and the Raiders had the ball on their own 15. I'd never seen that before.
Ditka pulling a Sean Salisbury on Suzi Kolber.
"Well, Coach Shannahan, what do you think about the Raiders...
Ditka talks over her "Suzi, murble murble pick murble phone"
Especially since greenberg was apparently the play by play
Now THAT would be must see TV
And by "best," I mean the worst.
