NGT: Art Rooney II to hold Roethlisberger presser today

Steelers team president Art Rooney II will speak to reporters today at 2:30 p.m. ET to discuss the Ben Roethlisberger situation.

The Steelers said Rooney will "provide an update on the Ben Roethlisberger matter." It's unknown what he will say.

Steelers chairman Dan Rooney on Wednesday declined to offer support to Roethlisberger when asked by reporters.

Commissioner Roger Goodell also said Wednesday that a decision on possible discipline for Roethlisberger was coming soon.

Former Steelers QB Terry Bradshaw said that the Rooney family is so unhappy with Roethlisberger that they would consider jettisoning him. -- Sean Leahy

I think Pittsburgh is our equal in the AFC. They just traded a 1250 yard WR who was one year removed from being SB MVP for a 5th rounder. Think about that.

My point is that while Collins might have been a jackass, Roethlisberger has now been accused of assault twice. Legimately? We don't know and never will know. Maybe both of these women were out for a payday, but I do think it doesn't help his case when this has happened twice in such a short period of time.

of the Giants & Steelers are close, hell they even share family members and one of the Mara children is named Rooney.

The two teams have sat next to each other at owner's meetings for so long, other team owner groups know not to take the seat next to Steelers if the Giants aren't there yet & vice versa.

Report: Steelers open to offers for Big Ben

The Steelers have held internal discussions about trading Ben Roethlisberger and are open to dealing him, according to NFL.com's Jason LaCanfora.

The Rooney family is "livid" over Roethlisberger's off-field embarrassments, and they would listen "intently" if other teams called about the quarterback. As of yet, they have not held trade talks with other teams. The Steelers are reportedly "enamored" of Sam Bradford, but they don't believe the Rams -- or any other team -- would take on Big Ben given his considerable "baggage" of late.
