it is more of a schematic/misunderstanding of the scheme problem. Nobody is setting the edge on defense. All of these runs keep bouncing outside or off of the edge where our guy who is supposed to be setting the edge is flying up-field. Physically I don't really thing we are getting beat up front.
I want to clarify what I am saying. Nobody is setting the edge. Either we are forgetting who is supposed to do it or when the person is supposed to do it he isn't doing it properly.
...I see no fire in this team, and I haven't seen it since 2007. By that, I mean a consistent "burn" within to win. They usually come out flat and have to play from behind. We may as well not have any 3rd quarters in our games because they wait until the 4th quarter to "get serious".
I for one can't wait for a total regime change to bring in new blood. That's a hell of a thing to say after only 5 games, but I've felt this way for a few years now and I see NO improvement whatsoever since 2007, despite the draft, new free agents, etc...same old non-burn bunch.
One thing I do agree with him is the inconsistency that surrounds this team and the fact they have a lot of veteran leadership on the team. Having said that, they are not an old team by any means. What I found interesting about his comments, he feels this team should be better then what it shows and in his words, "can't understand the New York Giants". Teams have ups and downs but this team's up and down swings are crazy.
Is just bad. We are getting lit-up by these inept offenses. We have very few three and outs. Even when we have a team pinned deep they get to mid-field and flip field position. No injury excuses we would be just as bad with TT and Goff in there. This looks like the Rust - Read and React defense. Gentlemen its time for us to rebuild, which means the entire staff has to go. It also means we have to get players in here that want to play football, the right way. Eric the homepage was so right with the word "Finese" to describe this team.
As for our offense, why the hell would we run a spread formation so much when it was not working. When we went 2 TEs we were able to run and pass more effectively. This side of the ball is almost as bad as the defense. Let's face it this a 6 - 10 year with TC and staff being asked to leave.
Harrison is just doing what most football "experts" do now.
Not actually analyzing anything, but appealing to the LCD of fans.
The team somehow never loses because it's just not good enough, played like crap, etc. It's always all about ~effort~ or ~leadership~, ~chemistry~ or ~heart~.
"flat", showed "no emotion" and did not have any "enthusiasm".
Common retorts for people who can't break the game down in other terms, so they latch onto intangible emotions that they translate through TV coverage.
Maybe Harrison was pissed we didn't take cheap shots this week to show who the Alpha Dog was.
98 yd TD int doesn't happen, and nobody's worried about things like "no leadership".....Giants were going for the kill shot, and got bit...it happens.....move on
Got manhandled two straight weeks, and yes i know i would be. They are playing horribly along both lines. Another pull a win out of his ass by Eli would not have changed a thing other then this, people would believe it would get corrected, now they are wondering if it will, and rightfully so. Plus alkl the playoff talk is now becoming a joke, because anyone who knows this game knows you do not win with a bad defense and bad OLine. No matter how good a running back and recievers and QB you have. Bad OLine plus bad defense equals bad team. Unless you have Peyton Manning.
he probably catches that pass from Eli. Maybe he's tackled immediately, but I think we go on to score the TD, win the game, and nobody's talking about 'leadership' this morning.
Of all the problems this team has, I don't believe that 'leadership' is near the top of the list.
especially when there have been large changes to their lineups (injury). Winning ugly builds character and team "spirit." If Cruz doesn't slip and the next play is a TD, all we are bitching about is the poor line play and crappy running.
What leadership does Rodney want; Ra-ra leadership hasn't been part of the Giants since LT? Tuck is quiet and BJac while wild, is the 2nd string RB. Eli is steady. Rolle gets lambasted here when he speaks up.....
On offense? That is a different story.

the giants were 5 yards away from winning the game yesterday despite their awful play.
we need a better prepared defense and to control the sloppiness on offense. not a leadership or passion issue.

Comments like this are why I haven't watched a full pre-game show in years. If I want bullshit I'll go out to the farm!
I agree that a wholesale change starting at the top is overdue.
I really think some of you guys just talk out your ass about inanimate concepts because you have no fucking clue hpow else to explain disappointment.
Every fucking loss is due to a lack of emotion of being flat to some of you guys.
