EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.—Sitting in front of his locker, New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul looked bigger than last season, when he became one of the NFL’s top defensive ends. Pierre-Paul said he had gained only five pounds. Must have been five pounds of muscle. "Becoming more of a man," Pierre-Paul said with a smile at Tuesday’s minicamp. At 6-5, 295 pounds, Pierre-Paul moves with the agility of someone much smaller. |
Reggie White was a monster. I think it's safe to say that JPPs floor is Strahan or Tuck at the very least. That's saying alot.
I never saw Deacon Jones play, (saw him on Big Miked Dupp SB46 week) but he reminds me of Osi.
But just because of his quickness and fluidity he's nothing like I've seen for a guy that big and strong. Peppers was close but I don't think he was as smooth. And Mario Williams might be the most naturally gifted athlete the DE position has seen, but I don't think he's ever shown the fluidity of JPP.
He's a beast.
The proof of that (weight not influencing get-off at the snap) was evident when we watched Fred Robbins play.
He is going to be 295 and probably will still look lean.
Nothing to see here. Move on. Move on.

5th leg is probably as long as his arms and weighs about 15 pounds...
