Twitter really is a dangerous tool for those that don't think before they tweet. Attacking or making a "whitty" comment about the fan base of the team you cover could really damage your image and following amongst your target audience.
But I think we should go easy so the Giants organization doesn't take away any of our access to the players based on irrational behavior to some idiot press member. Just saying.
He hears about an award and tries to smart-ass it. Then he tries to be all like... aww, just sayn' guyz. A douche move no matter what or who the award was for. Why poo-poo someones award.

The folks at @BigBlueInteract presented Eli Manning with their 2011 Giant of the Year award after practice today. #NYG

@RVacchianoNYDN Someone should present them with a calendar.

@MP_Trey Wow, wasn't trying to dismiss the BBI crowd at all. Just thought it was a long time to wait to present a 2011 award.
Yea, it wasn't the greatest comment, but I don't think the impression we necessarily want to give the new guy is that Giants fans are an easily butthurt group that will lash out at any slight, right? Maybe flooding his Twitter isn't the smartest thing? He already responded to the BBI account saying that our reasoning for presenting the trophy when we do makes sense.
Just had to get that off my chest. I didn't think it was that bad at first, but the more I thought about it I think it was a pretty shitty thing to say.
The guy is a FUCKING DUMB ASS. What other fucking time could the fans present a player a trophy?
Why do the Giants have such sucky "beat reporters"/media coverage. There are a couple of good ones and that's it. Maybe they suck for other teams as well.
I must have missed the memo when BBI turned into 4chan
I think we have some pretty damn good beat guys. Garafolo is one of the best local beat reporters in the business. It won't be long before he has a national gig. Ohm, Tom Rock, Stapleton...all are solid.
You basically have Ralph, the BBI whipping boy and...a new guy who 1) 90% of you hadn't heard of before 15 minutes ago and 2) made one lil quip? That constitutes bad beat writers?
Was thinking the same thing. Considering some of the reactions of some towards Vick and his comments about his own team (not calling out BBI, the Giants or it's fans) compared to someone who just tried to clown a site full of Giants fans...well, I guess it's a matter of perspective...or something...
When would a fan given award be given to a player, if not training camp?
Anyways, seems like he was making a smart ass comment. Kind of came off as "Raplh-ish." I see no problem with BBI wanting to nip this one in the bud before we are stuck with two Ralphs. Well done, folks.

Alex Raskin @alexraskinNYC
Taking a lot of flack on BBI, but none better than BigBlueinSoFL who suggested "cook his parents in2 some chili & trick him into eating it"
Alan Raskin, meet BBI.
SoDev is a killer!
SoDev is a mess.....

His name sounds great for him to cover the REDSKINs.
DIck.
All GIANTS fans should boycott his "coverage"
