NFC East Race (chart)

ray in arlington : 10/27/2013 10:34 pm

Note that the NFC East is 1-9 against the AFC West, 5-14 outside the division overall.

Can the Giants really get this done? They still have some tough teams (GB, SEA) on the schedule.
I hope they can

But they are 2.5 games back to Dallas and look at Dallas' remaining schedule. I see 5 very winnable games for them. I see no way the Giants close out this year above 8-8. Even 7-9 would be a massive turnaround. The Redskins also have 5 very winnable games remaining. And as much as I'd like to count the Eagles out who knows what happens if Vick ever gets health again. The Giants need to win every divisional game here on out and much more.
I think they need to get to 9-7..

because it will be very tough to win an 8-8 tiebreak with Dallas.

you know we're in the thick of things when that happens
Nice chart

Looks like this is required:
Win against either GB or Detroit
Wins against both SD and Oakland
2 wins against Washington
Beat Dallas

That's 8 wins. Assumes a loss to Seattle.

That's a lot to ask of a team that just isn't very good. The recent wins are great, but the Vikings and Eagles are lousy football teams.

never assume a loss at home
assuming we win a lot of ballgames, the one against detroit stands out

If Dallas loses to either Washington or Philly

The Giants would likely win an 8-8 tiebreaker with them (assuming the Giants sweep the rest of their division games).
