Giants Top 25 Post Season Moments

EricJ (formerly Tyleraimee) : 12/24/2013 6:54 pm
I found this gem on youtube. Hopefully some of you have not seen this yet. If we are going to have a shitty season like this one, we can at least remember some moments that fans of other teams would only dream about.

Merry Christmas everyone.

would have thought that the most important play Devin Thomas ever made would be for us and not the Redskins.
Great stuff

Excellent pick...
I don't know if I'd put the Burress catch at #1

But it's a good list. Glad to see the Webster INT that high. What about the McConkey super bowl catch?
With the top two plays coming from the 2007 SB

it makes you wonder how old the person is who put the collection together. I am sure we can come up with a few more and without question, re-order them to suit our own personal preferences.
Awesome

Loved it, but I would have had some earlier playoff moments higher

or in there.
- the LT 1990 fumble strip won the game. The 49ers were running out the clock, the game was over.
- There were a couple of other moments in the 1986 SB, such as the tipped McConkey TD catch

Agreed...a few other moments were bigger. I don't think the Manningham catch along the sideline belongs either. Although it was a spectacular catch/throw, it was first down. We still could have driven down the field to score. The game was not necessarily decided on that play.
A play that people forget...

vs the Bills...
I think Hostetler got hit in his knee and had to leave the game. He came back in and scrambled for a first down and without that we lose. I actually remember saying to myself that if Simms was the QB there, we dont win the game.

That's one of the best throw/catch combos in the history of the superbowl. Absolutely belongs on there.

I was born in 89 so I'm not familiar with the exact ebb and flow of the 90 Niners game, but if that LT strip set up the last FG, I agree it should be higher.

I'd like to see Steve Smith's 3rd and 11 catch in there as well.
That Mark Ingram first down

vs the Bills was also amazing. Surprised that he was not able to elude the police with moves like that.
I would even put Hostetler holding the ball on the ball
PatersonPlank : 12/25/2013 12:49 pm : link
in the endzone during the 1990 SB ahead of a few of these. That should have been a fumble and likely td for the Bills instead of just a safety. Kept us in the game. At least it directly led to/saved points.

Overall, and you can't capture it in this, one of the top moments for me was in the 1990 SB the Giants holding the ball for the last 8 minutes of the first half and the first 9 minutes of the second. That's 17 minutes plus halftime the high-powered Bills never touched the ball. Otis kept running and running, grinding it out, very few passes. Pure, historic, ground it out football dominating the LOS. I will never forget the TV continually showing Jim Kelly standing on the sideline, helmet in hand, because he couldn't get on the field.

Amazing, the Bill only had the ball for 20 minutes but still scored 19 pts.
What kind of penalty does Anderson get

Interesting question, but I think no flag. I think a lot more was made of that hit than what it really was. I don't think it had quite the impact as the announcers and subsequently us fans have opined. Plus, he didn't really hit the Bills defender illegally by today's standards even.
Man, that was nice to watch today
Matt M. : 12/26/2013 9:25 am : link
I have always loved that Ingram catch and run. Also, just for its simplistic elegance, I love the Simms to Bavaro TD followed by his immediate one knee and subsequent flip of the ball to the official. Another favorite of mine is the McConkey flea-flicker grab and near TD.
Watching Nicks run past that Atlanta secondary
Jimmy Googs : 12/26/2013 12:29 pm : link
for that huge touchdown makes me yearn for more from him.

Do you ever yearn?

Yes but usually there is a female involved and not a large black man
Well maybe best of both worlds now since
