every Saturday in the Fall a group of us would get a pick up two hand touch game going and this one overweight guy would always come out. Problem was he was so obese he couldn't move much so wound up playing steady QB most of the time. Funny thing about it was he had a cannon arm and was really good.
Super Bowl Champion Returns to the River Monsters to "Finish What We Started"

The Northern Kentucky River Monsters are proud to announce the signing QB Jared Lorenzen. The Highland Heights native, and University of Kentucky standout was part of the Super Bowl XLII champions NY Giants.
In 2011, with the Northern Kentucky River Monsters, Lorenzen threw for 3473 yards and 81 touchdowns. He was also named the UIFL League MVP. In 2013 Jared played 2 games with the Owensboro Rage of the CIFL. Jared threw 15 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions.
Head Coach Brian Schmidt said “I field several times a day the question is Jared coming back? Today is a day that I can definitely say yes, and a day River Monster Fans can be excited for. Having a QB the caliber of Jared improves not only the River Monsters, but league as a whole. ”
“I cannot be more excited for the 2014 season." Jared responded. "So many of us wanted to finish what we started in 2011. The team that has been assembled really is impressive not only in talent but in great guys that the fans will love. This River Monster team is going to be fun to watch.”
The guy had a canon for an arm and had great touch and composure on short passes. Also, as a runner, he was hard to stop, and hurt defenders. So BBI can joke about his size but the guy really was talented. I'm not making him out as an all pro but IMO he was as talented, if not more so, than many of the backup QBs in the NFL. My questions: What happened to him? Why was he out of the league so quickly?
but he would have been a good fit for an offense like Kansas City. Jared was really comfortable and accurate in his short and intermediate passing game.
the front office. The Giants wanted him to go play in NFL Europe and Jared felt that this would hurt his chances of making the team. Instead he wanted to participate in the Giants' off season training program. I think I got this right and if not, please correct.

I think the Giants just ran out of patience with Lorenzen. Remember, they signed him back in 2004 to groom him as a backup. He started to become more expensive to keep around and wasn't really progressing. So the Giants decided to change the backups behind Eli in 2008, ditching Wright and Lorenzen, and signing David Carr and drafting Andre Woodson. They released Lorenzen before camp started.
Doesn't he have a SB ring?
They don't provide uniform numbers, probably because they change every week, but there is a promo photo of Lorenzen wearing #22.

Well, think about it this way - how much natural athletic ability must you have to be able to make an NFL roster as a QB when you're as fat as he was?
holy crap. he trucked like three different players on that run.
