College buddy of my niece ... staying over en route to a college reunion of sorts, at Cornell. Low-level name drop ... but talking to this young lady tonight, I'm hopeful for her that she makes it big. (And not just because she loved my cooking.)

There is definitely some truth to this, however he had to see it coming. If he said "I met a very lovely young actress today, check out X TV show" as opposed to "Quirky girl loves my cooking. Here's a pic" this would probably have gone a bit differently.
