saying he is right or wrong, but this guy has had a major problem with Eli from the get-go.
He's somewhat two-faced about it. He defends Eli on his radio show when he's doing well, or against his co-host, but when things go poorly he's the first one to fire up the negative press.
a problem with Eli, as I suspect many others have, since the whole SD draft thing, then there was the dopey looks, then there was the "lucky" championships....admittedly Eli doesn't help himself with his ints and gunslinger ways but the whole Eli narrative is beyond old and tired at this point.
saying he is right or wrong, but this guy has had a major problem with Eli from the get-go.
He's become a real shit just like his partner. He goes after Eli constantly for not wanting to play in San Diego but he slobs over Peyton who ducked the Jets.
That show is unlistenable, and he's becoming more and more terrible.
based on last year Eli was bad. But QBs are funny...they tend to play well when things are stable and play like shit when things aren't so stable. There are exceptions..some QBs can mask stinky teams better than others can. It's really hard to fairly judge any QB but I know that when Eli has a running game, he wins 10 games or more just about every year. 2012 they were on their way to 10 wins or more until Andre Brown went down. 2006 was really the only year they failed to win despite having the running game. 2009 the running game sucked.
Boomer can go fuck himself and Carton can donkey punch him.
....being very critical of Gilbride and his offense in the early years and hanging a lot at his feet. I never found him to be overly negative toward Eli (or gettign caught in the upswings either).
After the '11 and the 2nd Superbowl, when people began talking about Eli now having possible HOF chances if he had another 4-5 strong years, he decided to undergo a mind-meld with Craig Carton with his on-air persona and jumped firmly to that side. You know he's the type that's very bitter about his chances of making the HOF being essentially over so his view on any other QB that suddenly finds himself on that same fence will be negative. I think Kurt Warner is the same way and in the same group.
The fact is that
-Eli looks really uncomfortable.
-The Giants did not extend his contract to make cap room when many thought they might.
-Eli had 27 INTs last year.
It's not a stretch to think that Eli is cooked. I don't think that, but it's not necessarily something only an Eli Hater might think.
Boomer's last appearance on MNF? He was so stupid. He was arguing with Al Michaels over when a timeout should be used and Boomer was so damn wrong.
Turned out that Michaels was able to prove his point by what happened in the final minutes of the game. That was the last time they allowed Boomer on MNF.
Has stated on. Any occasions that he can't believe Eli got the contract he got!. He has started that if he was playing what he would be worth. He's just jealous and this coming from a former NFLPA leader. He has to work 8 jobs to make half of what Eli makes! He should put his Jet jersey back on, he's green with envy!

Agree. We need to see how the OL plays, but it's certainly possible. I do also agree that Boomer has been overtly critical of Eli for years.
3948 yds 26 TD's and 15 picks. Rating(grain of salt the rating system sucks)87.2.
2013 sucked...we have yet to play 2014. One horrible year since his last Super Bowl title. Lets maybe let it play out a bit before we kick him to the curb.

Boomer is terrible, but while it's your intention, you really aren't defending Eli by going on about how he's always needed a run game to lean on.
It's not the 80s anymore. Good QBs, if they're actually good, can survive a lack of a rushing attack just fine. If Eli can't (he's shown he can), that's an indictment of him.
I would bet he's just angry that Eli forced his way to NY like a diva would. Boomer is old school in that he thinks Eli should've sucked it up and be successful in SD without cherry picking his team.
That's what I thinkhe resentment comes from. And when Eli is up for the HOF, don't think for one second that the whole NYG/SD debate won't have an impact.

Boomer was probably your childhood idol, wasn't he Jets fan?

I'm sorry, but it sounds like you just said that he praises him when he does well and criticizes him when he does bad ...Hmmm. That pig headed one track mind bastard!
When he's good, he's very good. When he's bad, he's very bad. Which Eli will show up this season? My guess is that he's a work in progress over the season. He starts to improve after a few bad games and finishes the season in one of his unbeatable funks. Remember, you read it here.
Well, based on roughly 4 quarters, he hasn't....having a DLman in his face, a lot of times, could be a factor...no TE....no #1 receiver.....guess that doesn't count....
but 2 SB Championships and his cool demeanor have grown on me.
Boomer is just a big headed asswipe who can put his opinions where they count most, up Craig's ass...
Frustrated JEST QB who closed a decent career on the wrong side of the ledger.
We're talking about someone who's never won a super bowl consistently criticizing someone who's won two.
I get your point, but Boomer is in the media doing his job and giving his opinion. I don't believe it has anything to do with whether he has won a Super Bowl or whether he even played football.
I don't think Boomer is like the regular media. He's a former NFL QB who seems to enjoy criticizing Eli. You are correct that I can't know his motives.

what everyone is thinking. When you have two QBs playing against the same defense and one performs while the other doesn't .. doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the writing on the wall.
Booker experience as a Jet was not what he expected or wanted. He expected to be a saviour win and restore respect and bring championships.
What he got was losing criticism and worst of all second citizen status. TOUGH for an athlete to take. Rather than blame the Jets or accept his failure he felt the Giant unfairly received too much credit and became jealous.
I base this on his comments as a Jet player commentator radio hits.

For such a successful and likable young man he sure catches a lot of crap.
so its not total disrespect for those that want to sling shit.

Pretty much.

Oh bull...don't generalize when you're trying to make a point.
I swear there are posters on this site who think you're a homer if you so much as think something said negatively about the team may be wrong.
Of course, some of these same posters are much more than willing to make lots of loud noises and agree the Giants suck and always will.
as is Chris Simms.
However, it starts with the O-line.
I've said this before, Eli is a rhythm QB, when he gets in a rhythm he's as good as anyone.
Simms was more critical than Boomer.

1998 NFL MVP :)
On my phone.
Carton is hilarious. I listen for the first hour and that's usually good enough. I dont like the rest of the show usually.

He's a douchebag.
I have to believe we haven't seen the entire offense so far.
I didn't realize that was the criteria we judge QB's with.
I thought it was whether they win or lose Super Bowls

Of course, that's why Trent Dilfer and Doug Williams are obviously better than Dan Marino and Archie Manning
He prefaces his comments with platitudes just so he can put more zingers in there. As others have said, there's no rational reason. Its boring.
