It's always been funny to me that the team is called the "BROWNS" and their logo is a fucking orange helmet.
Not to miller, but I find it annoying that our Giants - nicknamed Big Blue - has barely any blue in the away uni's
Again, same here. I know some old timers love the red because they used it back in the old days, but it should be nothing more than a trim color for the Giants.

I guess it would be odd if their uniforms weren't brown as they are. The orange is the alternate color to the brown.
That's why it's funny. It's the one part of their uniform that ISN'T predominantly Brown (or white, obviously) and it's the part they feature as their logo.
Not that I'm saying they should have Brown football pants as their logo.. it's just.. so fitting for the Browns.
on the preference.
And WOW!
What a radical change! It'll take a while before we recognize that new logo as the Cleveland Browns.
(and they wonder why they perennially suck).
I really respect the organization for basically sticking to the traditional look. On the other hand, you wonder if just the change on the dog logo and color will generate enough new sales to make it worthwhile.

The Browns were named after Paul Brown as a result of fan survey that first selected the name "Panthers", but had to be dropped because the owner of the original Cleveland Panthers football team still owned the name. Paul Brown thought orange went well with brown paints with orange piping. The team wore a white jersey at home and a brown jersey on the road. Brown was coach, general manager, and part owner, so he called most of the shots.
The Browns have a fanbase that for better or worse would likely be resistant to any wholesale changes to the uniform. The same could be said for Green Bay or Pittsburgh, there probably won't be any big changes anytime soon.
I'm reminded of when the Giants had the red jerseys for 1 game a year...1 damn game and Giants fans couldn't stop pissing and moaning about it. That's what browns fans would do.
The Giants have changed their jersey's often since the 1980's yet the color has always been blue (you know that). The red didn't even look like us.
Personally, i hate the red numbers on the white jerseys and prefer blue numbers.
I'd be inclined to agree with you, I wasn't a fan of the red but only once a year I didn't see why it was such a big deal but that's really beside the point. I was hoping that bringing up those jerseys would make these guys realize why Cleveland isn't eager to change...The Browns have a certain look love it or hate it. The Giants wear blue, that's my point.
Have to hand it tomthe Browns boardroom. That's creative.
The old Dawg was pretty awesome. New one looks like he's from Tom and Jerry.
Uniforms will be revealed at another time.
They will also supposedly introduce a fourth color for their uni's... probably a grey color like Seattle uses.
So stupid.
The orange is brighter and richer and matches the passion of our fans and city.
The brown is unchanged.
That just says it all right there, doesn't it?
The 2015 Cleveland Browns: The Brown is Unchanged.
Yeah, mechandise revenue doesn't count for anything.
Looks like a leprechaun who doesn't own green clothes.

Although the link below suggests the team might have been named after boxer Joe Louis.
