Q: Now that youíve had a chance to get some snaps, how much more comfortable do you think youíll be to get more action?

A: For me physically, the nature of the injury is to keep playing, and get stronger and stronger every week. Iím looking to play more this week but you never know how the flow of the game is going to go. For me, continuing to get live action is going to help out tremendously.

Q: As the middle linebacker, youíre the brains of that defense and their quarterback is very inexperienced. Heís been around awhile but hasnít played a lot of games. Do you get into a mind game situation with their QB?

A: Weíre going to try to do some things pre-snap. We try to affect every quarterback pre-snap in terms of looks that you show them, whether you make it look like one thing but itís something different, but he has the great equalizer, which is the improve after the snap. Prolonging the down is something that we canít let him do, we have to contain and keep him in the pocket, and heís very dangerous. We have a tough task this week.

Q: Does he remind me you of Cam [Newton] at all?

A: I would say that he throws the ball a lot better than people give him credit for and I think that was the same thing with Cam Newton. People thought he was a running quarterback coming in the spread offense and then he comes out and throws for more yards than any rookie, so he proved himself that he could do both. Tyrod [Taylor] is well on his way to doing the same thing. Theyíre very different, heís more elusive, but can throw the ball just as well.

Q: A lot of yards against you guys have been underneath stuff, running backs, tight ends, flats and stuff, more than the deep stuff, right? What have you done to sort of tighten that up in your estimation?

A: I would say for about two-thirds of the game, weíre playing great and then we give up a couple long drives, especially in the passing game. Collectively making mistakes and not keying in, honing in on our job, and then all of a sudden the stats look a little slanted. For us, the one thing weíre preaching this week is just finishing. Continue to do what weíre doing well, but itís four quarters for a reason, so thatís the emphasis this week, just go out and play a complete football game.

Q: What kind of challenges does [Charles] Clay present as a pass-catching tight end?

A: He looks great. Itís simple to see what type of guy he is. Heís different because most tight ends that catch the ball, whether theyíre fast or a possession tight end, he has the ability to put a move on a safety. The touchdown against the Dolphins was quite the run after catch, so heís really a receiver but playing tight end. Heís a guy that we have our eyes on, 85 is here, what does that mean? We have to contain him as well. Heís a big part of their offense.

Q: I know itís Friday, but there seems to be a looseness to this locker room that wasnít there a couple of weeks ago. Is it because of the win? Is it because of the schedule on Friday? What do you attribute it to?

A: I would say itís because of the win, first. You know the sun came up and all is well. When you win the game, I think it carries on throughout the week and then anytime you come in and have a walk thru, itís a big mental day, but physically you feel a lot better. I think guys are excited about that as well.

Q: You feel a lot better 10 days between games there? Significant for you?

A: For sure, no question. Thursdays are tough but on the backside, itís a huge bonus.
Keep playing Unga
