I remember you playing well in a big win vs. the Steelers in 08, then a few games later Chase Blackburn was starting over you. What happened?

As someone else asked earlier, how do you feel about Spags as a coordinator?

Hope you are doing well and thank you for taking the time to interact with the fans.

A handful of players over the years have agreed that relating to the players was Coughlin's biggest (and perhaps only) shortcoming as a coach. Coughlin himself even acknowledged it and reinvented himself in the summer of 07.

There's 50+ players and a practice squad on every NFL roster, not to mention coaches, trainers, assistants. The list goes on and on. Styles aren't always going to mesh. This to me doesn't come off like sour grapes. He just doesn't like this aspect of Coughlin's coaching style. Maybe he should keep his mouth shut, but really, who cares that he didn't? He only brought up the one thing that has been brought up about Coughlin numerous times.

The only thing I take issue with is the use of the word "overrated." Coughlin's track record of success is on par with the perceptions he has, IMO. Definitely a dumb word to use there, but he said a lot of things in that statement. I'm not going to characterize the entire sentiment because on one foolish word.

Shut the fuck up you groveling fool. Please like me? Seriously?

I think guys who have played several years in the NFL already know that fans are often assholes.

Anyway, it is pretty cool indeed to get a player's perspective. Looking forward to see if BK answers the questions about the 2008 craziness and what it is about Spas that caused friction between them.

mirwin : 10/22/2015 9:09 pm : link
what the hell was coughlin telling everyone once plaxico shot himself? we were what 10-1? most fan opinion is that the shooting, along with defensive injuries was what killed our chances at a repeat. At least in my opinion had we had osi plus madison, goff, and dahl we have a pretty good chance having beat arizona and pittsburgh, yeah bryan i think you remember that game?

and thinking about it i was a hot head in response to you interview, thanks for chiming in, it's cool.

but he embraces the philosophies, morals, and beliefs of the greatest generation. And so that is what I was referring to.

I'm not orally gratifying TC.

I'm simply imagining a round table of football coaching greats discussing Bryan Kehl.

And I posted what I believe would be the gist of that short conversation.

Now its certainly arguable whether TC has a seat at that table or not....but hes certainly at that party.

And Bryan is only here because of his comments about TC. So Bryan, congrats on your time in the NFL. Its a great accomplishment that no one can ever diminish.

But your view of TC as overrated, is horseshit.

And I obviously offended quite a few of the medium shirts here at BBI.....did you have your muscle milk and flex in the mirror today fellas?

I hope Kehl continues to post here despite

Bryan, the one thing i take away from your post is that there seems to be a pattern of "its all the different teams fault for not appreciating me". I could understand 1 maybe 2 teams not realizing your value, but when it gets to 3 teams i have to assume its the player instead.

I too, am a believer in "who is the common denominator"

But it really was just 2 teams - NY and STL.

My complaints are about Spagz and Coughlin. Not the other coaches I played for.

Thank you for the reply BK, valid point and my apologies on thinking 3 teams.

And what BBI should take notice. Bryan has been attacked, ridiculed, etc etc here right or wrong. But what he's done is he listens to response and doesn't respond with back atchya personal insults.Instead, He tries and certainly does back up his stance with facts and etc . Takes criticism and moves on.

Thanks Bryan for all your input/opinions etc..whether agree or not, it's good to have you post.

Absolutely and he seems to have enough facts to prove his point.

But you can be sure that the Giants were well aware of all of it before trading up in the 4th round to get him. So they knew they were bringing an adopted bi-racial kid from Utah who didn't drink, smoke, do drugs or have sex into a mostly black locker room in the NYC area. It seems to me if you are going to make that kind of commitment to a player, you would be more understanding and do a better job of making him feel welcome.

You really would have done better to just come on here and admit that you're a dickstain who made an ass of himself on the first thread. Completely disagree with your take on TC being overrated and Eli sucking in the regular season. It seems obvious that Eli was operating a highly volotile Gilbride offense for years and now under McAdoo we are seeing the overall stats matchup with the clutch play that has always been there.

That said, I agree with you about Kiwi. I have always felt the Giants messed with his career by making him an LB and constantly switching him around. He was supposed to be a DE period.

One last thing about TC. Do you ever feel like he was showing you tough love because he saw more potential in you? Maybe he wanted you to be "meaner" or more physical and thought that by constantly being up your ass he might bring this out of you on the field? Just curious to hear what you think.

Anyway, thanks for all your thoughts. You seem like a great guy. Beautiful family. Be well.
Skiba/uniforms
FranknWeezer : 10/22/2015 11:12 pm : link
Hey Bryan. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you will become a fixture on BBI. Random question for you… Most of us on BBI would love to see the 1980s throwback uniforms with "Giants" on the side of the helmet, but obviously the team has not come through for us yet. In your experience, did the players ever ask for these throwbacks to be worn, and/or do you think we will be wearing those uniforms anytime soon? While we are on the subject, how good are Skiba and the Giants equipment staff compared to St. Louis, Washington and Kansas City, and for what reasons (any examples)?
What was the game where there was a half time issue?
