Porzingis certainly didn't have any conditioning issues late in Wednesday's game against Philadelphia.
With five minutes to play in the fourth quarter, he gathered the ball at the top of the key, pumped-faked, took two dribbles to get around Nerlens Noel and threw down an uncontested dunk. You can watch the play here.
The dunk was Porzingis’ final basket of the night, leaving him with 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds. He has nine double-doubles in 19 games -- the sixth-highest total in the NBA.
“He’s been pretty good,” Knicks guard Jose Calderon said with a grin.

I'm trying to figure out how good the Warriors would be without Curry.
I just said it on the game thread -- he closed he statistical gap on KAT. PER, WS48, PPG, RPG, BPG -- they're pretty even right now.
PORZINGIS
2016 Steph Curry is the closest thing the NBA has ever seen to a basketball Gretzky. He's unreal.
I want him to work on the one dribble pull up, jab step and shoot and his post game...
Melo is great at creating space for himself so i hope those 2 work together and Melo shows him a coupleof things to add...
They would be an average team....It depends who the PG would be rather than Curry...
You are basically taking their leading scorer off their team, so it depends what you think of Thompson and Barnes..
Those 2 would be the ones to step up in shots and scoring oppurtunities...
I dont think they would suck...

He is GREAT at everything not just good. Guy is the best 3 point shooter that I have seen and has a better handle on the ball than anyone in the league.

In my opinion, Jordan's 2 seasons back to back from 86-88 of averaging 37-5-5 and 35-6-5 were the single two best seasons in NBA history and it's not close. Let's see what Curry finishes up with this season...
Thompson/Rush
Barnes/Iguodola
Green/Speights
Bogut/ezeli
They could compete in the east for a 5th or 6th seed...
I think Curry is so good it is kind of diminishing how good Thompson and Green are...
West has 6 teams over .500
Biggest surprises:
Rookie class has done quite well. Towns, Okafor, Mudiday, Porzingis have been better than expected.
Rick Carlisle remains the 2nd best coach in the NBA. No way Dallas should be this good.
Curry is in another stratosphere.
Paul George is back and dominating.
Drummond may have claimed best center in NBA.
Biggest disappointments:
Pelicans have been a disaster
Rockets/Wizards/Bucks have taken major step backs
Rose has been awful
Harden, Davis, Lillard are putting up points, but not good percentages for them.
Minnesota hasnt taken the step they were suppose too.
Iverson did it in back to back years
2000-01 he averaged 31 5 and 4 and 3 steals
in the following year he averaged 31 6 and 5 and 3 steals...
Thompson/Rush
Barnes/Iguodola
Green/Speights
Bogut/ezeli

Yeah, that maybe. They would be a good, but not great team. I just was thinking about it because it reminded me of when Jordan left the Bulls and they were pretty good but not great. Where would the Warriors be? They certainly would have to play VERY differently than they do. And without Curry to play off of, I wonder how successful Thompson and Green would be.
I hope it doesn't happen, because I love Steph Curry. He's just so great.
No they couldnt. When healthy, no one is beating Cleveland in the east.
You will have to battle chicago for him. I heard they are enamored with him.
Wow. Interesting. Miami would have to match that, though.

If curry left and they added a distributing PG they could still be good because they would hve someone to feed Thompson green and Barnes and they would not have to find their own shot...

throw a max offer at Whiteside. I think KP/Melo/Whiteside could anchor a title contender.

Maybe so but I'd give it a go. I'm 100% convinced he's the goods and I think Melo/KP/Whiteside could really do damage. I wouldn't want to face the Knicks if I were the rest of the NBA.

No harm in trying. Maybe you get lucky and sell the guy on an expanded role/young co-star vs. the aging Heat? I just think it's an avenue we haven't really discussed but KP/Whiteside could be DEATH to other teams and Melo would have less defensive pressure on him with 2 7 foot monsters behind him.
Good call, those Iverson years were just filthy, all time great.
32 6 and 7 just insane...
almost the whole league could use a guy like him...and nearly every team is going to have max level cap space.

Iverson averaged 31 8 and 4 with 2 steals...

Iverson's shooting was never as good as Curry's is. Not from 2, 3 or the line. Curry shoots as well from 3 as Iverson did for 2 pointers.
second year: 32 5 and 6

Curry is obviously the better shooter but Iverson was just unreal...he put his body threw hell and did not care...

But we have 2 7 foot whiteys with pull... Phil and KP! wooooooooooo
Without Curry, I dont think the Warriors are bad, but I'd guess they're no better than the 6 seed in the West. I really believe that the difference between great and ok teams in the NBA really is one or two players. You get into trouble when you dont have guys to play the right roles, so other guys have to punch above their weight. Curry leading that offense and being "the guy" lets other guys not shoulder that burden. If Green and Thompson had to be the big dogs, I think holes in their game would be exposed a lot more.

Absolutely. I don't mean to crap on Iverson - he was great (although as a UConn/Knicks fan I wasn't a big supporter of him). I just want to put Curry's incredible efficiency in perspective. From the counting stats, their performances look similar but Curry is just so much more efficient than any other player playing his position now... and maybe ever.
The Sixers are complete garbage. Nerlens Noel looks terrible to me. I don't see how the sixers rebuild will work. It's such a toxic environment to be that bad of an NBA team.
so they're just magically adding him to their roster without giving up anyone important from it?

Anthony, they could absolutely make the Finals with the roster they have. They have the assets to do it as well. I love Brad Stevens and what he's done to coach these kids up.

Didn't say that. But they have 4 first round picks in the upcoming draft, including Brooklyn's unprotected lottery. You think the Knicks wouldn't think hard on that?
This is def the opposite of what usually happens for the knicks. I guess we were due to get lucky. I mean KP skill set is incredible. You can see how good of a passer he is as well.
