Safety Landon Collins
Q: Seemed like a year ago you were sitting around wondering?
A: Yeah, it is a hard time. I was wondering, waiting and waiting for your dream to come true.
Q: Does it feel a lot longer?
A: Yeah, the offseason made it feel much longer because when you are in college, you are thinking about going into spring and now it is not just kind of sitting off and kind of keeping the emotion and stay training and staying in the mindset that I have to go back and put in the same effort that I put in the year before.
Q: What was your focus in the offseason?
A: My focus was maintaining --- basically maintaining and trying to lessen my weight and then after that, just key concepts. I worked with Ryan Clark from the Pittsburgh Steelers and definitely working with a great helped me learn the game even more.
Q: You said you wanted to drop some weight. What was your thinking behind that?
A: Just playing at a lower weight. That is about it. That was my biggest goal.
Q: What do you think that is going to do for you?
A: It is just healthier. You last longer, it is healthier, better movement for my body and you get more air when you are out there.
Q: What are you at?
A: Like 217. I am going to try and drop a little more but like 217 right now.
Q: When you see what the team did with free agency, do you sit there and say that is good for me?
A: I say it is good for the defense, not just good for me, it is good for the defense because we work as a whole and with those type of moves, it brings our defense to be much stronger and more competitive against other teams.
Q: Do you sit there and say if we get this pass rush, it will create more turnovers or do you have to adjust your game?
A: I donít know. We have to take it one step at a time. We have some great pass rushers now and last year we had some, too, so we will see how it goes when the season starts.
Q: How much more comfortably do you feel out there now that it is year two in the system?
A: Oh man, so much more comfortable. Having the same defensive scheme and just little simple changes, but definitely more comfortable just knowing what I am going into and knowing the same defense and same calls that I have and knowing the route concepts and picking up on the guys I played with it, is very, very comfortable for myself.
