Special Teams Coach Tom Quinn

Q: Have you seen enough Lucky Whitehead tape?
A: I’ve seen a lot of Lucky Whitehead tape. He’s a player that has continued to grow and get better. He’s very dangerous. Really quick in and out of his cuts. Jump cuts, stretch cuts type of guy. He’s special.
Q: Have you guys figured out who’s going to be returning kicks for you?
A: Will probably be Dwayne (Harris). We always want to have a stable group of guys. You can ask Sterling (Shepard) too and you have Shane (Vereen) and Bobby Rainey. We feel that we have some depth there.
Q: Have you figured out what you’re going to do on kickoffs? With Whitehead, just pound it away and see if you can get it into the end zone?
A: I think it all depends on the game and the flow. That would be the common thing. As you saw in preseason, there’s a lot of teams kicking it in play and covering it. We have to see once the season starts what everyone’s approach is.
Q: With Bobby, on the roster what does he give you on special teams?
A: He’s got to add a cover guy. He has to add some coverage ability. Obviously we know he’s a returner, but we kind of got one right now. To be active, he has to add himself as a coverage player.
Q: How has Randy Bullock handled this situation the past couple weeks?
A: He’s been good. Good temperament. He’s come in, kept his mouth shut, gone to work and done his job. It’s been good.
