Q: Everyone knows that Drew Brees can fire away. You saw it last year. Looking at the film, what is the biggest way or best way to contain him?

A: Just keep your composure. Do what you’re told. Drew Brees is a very good quarterback. Everyone knows he’s going to be in the Hall of Fame one day. You just have to keep your composure. You have to know how to rush him and you have to work together. That’s basically it.

Q: People have told me the toughest thing about him is that he spreads the ball around and uses the whole field?

A: He gets the ball off very quick. You can’t get frustrated at times. We know he’s going to get the ball off very quick. Our cornerbacks, I hope they do a great job covering, which I know they do. We just have to get there. We have to stop the run first before we get there.

Q: Is your shoulder going to allow you to play Sunday?

A: It allowed me to play last Sunday. I’m not even worried about my shoulder. We’re good. I’ll be out there Sunday…maybe.

Q: Easy to talk Brees, but Ingram ran for 80 yards against this team last year, he’s a pretty good runner.

A: Yes, he is a very good runner. We faced a good running back last week. (They) ran for 101 yards, I guess. We have to do a better job of stopping the run. That’s basically what our coach preaching. We can do it.

Q: Coach says you have to move on from last year but at the same time you can probably learn from last year. Can you just talk about that balance of what you’ve learned from last year to this year?

A: I wasn’t here last year. It’s a big difference. I watched the film. You learn from it. A couple of mistakes were made. You can always learn from your mistakes. Guys learn from it and move on. They have to come in here Sunday. You move on. We’re going to be pumped up for it. I know I’m pumped up for it. Even the coaches and the fans. We’re going to give them what they want.

Q: Coach Peyton said you’re one of the guys the Saints have to keep an eye on. Can you expand on that?

A: I appreciate that. That’s a good thing. Anytime you’re talked about, it’s a good thing. I’m going to go out there and do the best I can to help my team win a football game. It’s no secret I’m playing this week. I’m going to bring everything I got.

Q: Were you able to see yourself do more with your hand?

A: I was cut eight games short and didn’t have any training camp. You have to put that into effect when you talk about stuff like that. Most people don’t put it into a factor that I had eight games and no training camp. Those are the things that count. I had all of that. I was able to come in and do what I do. Now, I have a whole 16 games ahead of me. It actually feels like a routine now. I’m just waiting for it.

Q: Do you feel like the defense is different this year?

A: Yes. We have guys that are hungry to go out there and go to war. Especially the front line. As a unit, we’re just playing some defense, some solid defense. Everyone knows what Giants defense is about. That’s what we try and build it.

Q: You don’t think it’s going to be another track meet on Sunday?

A: Who knows. You can expect anything any given Sunday. We’ll see.
