Head Coach Ben McAdoo

September 23, 2016

Q: A lot of attention has been paid outside of here to Odell and Josh Norman. How do you think your team has handled that this week?

A: We will be ready to go. We have moved on. It was in the past and we are ready for Sunday.

Q: How much time did you spend on it this week?

A: We are preparing for Washington.

Q: With Marshall Newhouse out, do you know who you are going to go with?

A: Yeah, we have a couple options.

Q: What have you seen from those options this week?

A: Had a good week of preparation, get ready for launch day tomorrow and kickoff is on Sunday.

Q: Would you consider a rotation at right tackle?

A: Anything is a possibility.

Q: What about safety in place of Darian Thompson?

A: Yeah, Nat (Berhe) will step in.

Q: Any reservations there for you?

A: No. Nat has played a bunch, has done a tremendous job for us. We have a lot of confidence in Nat.

Q: I have read through all the transcripts from this week and I realized you haven’t been asked about Eli Manning. He plays well, but doesn’t come up in conversation. Does that ever seem odd to you?

A: Well, every week is a challenge for a quarterback in this league and you always have to be at the top of your game. You can never have a down moment, let alone a down week, and Eli consistently steps up to the challenge in the week of preparation and that is key for us as an organization.

Q: We asked Odell about dropping that one ball at the end of the game last week. I just wanted to know about your impression of that throw?

A: You know what, the next play was a great play for us because it showed that Eli is willing to be aggressive. We talked to him during the week about always being aggressive and he went right back to the other side on the next play and he and Victor cashed in, so I liked the aggressiveness, I love that mentality.

Q: How would you characterize how Eli has played over the first two games?

A: He has been steady.

Q: How does a team learn to be clutch? You can say that last year this team was not very clutch.

A: I am not worried much about the past. We have learned from the past. We have moved on from the past. Discipline and poise is important for us. As a team, we will be tested again this weekend and we need to cash in on it. We talk about it each and every day and it will be a great test for us on Sunday.

Q: Rashad Jennings isn’t listed on the injury report. Are there any limitations with him?

A: Yeah, Rashad has a banged up wrist and when you are a running back, a banged up wrist is a banged up wrist.

Q: Where do you stand with a running back who can only carry the ball with one hand? Are you comfortable with that?

A: Yeah, absolutely. He is a veteran back. He has played a lot of football in this league. He has earned his spot and, yeah, I am comfortable with him.

Q: How do you think Olivier Vernon has played these past two games and has the wrist seemed to affect him?

A: I think he is a very disruptive player, he is a smart player, he gets football, he works at it and I am glad he is the red, white and blue.

Q: How do you think Bobby Hart has progressed?

A: Since he got here last year, it has been night and day. He has worked hard at his development, his body has changed completely and it is encouraging.

Q: Ryan Kerrigan is a tough guy. What are the challenges of facing a guy like that?

A: Ryan is one of the finest in the business at getting at the quarterback and he is really a complete player, he can play in the run game, too. He has got a high motor, intense player and he is a challenge for any tackle in this league, so regardless of whoever plays on the right side, we have our hands full.

Q: Is that the guy that you have to kind of locate on their defense?

A: They have four pass rushers. Four guys that do a nice job of getting after the quarterback, so in passing situations, we need to know where they are all located. Matchups are important.
One thing he learned from TC

Gotta feel Vereen and Darkwa earn more reps this week. Can say all week you have confidence in Jennings, but that wrist is a big deal for substantial carries/receiving. We'll see.

Hopefully OV's wrist injury doesn't limit him much further.
I wouldn't Mind seeing
