CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Postgame vs Ravens, October 16, 2016

Q: When you were running with him, did you put your hand down at all?

A: No. See when I’m running with him, he’s battling for me to get into position. I’m fighting with him and he’s looking at the ball. That’s legal. You can do that. That’s what I always was told. That’s what I know. I’m not sure what he got off that. He said he got it in the beginning. That should’ve been a hold or something, definitely not a pass interference.

Q: The fourth down and two, how huge was that stop?

A: That takes away seven points or six points. It takes away seven points. That’s definitely huge. It gives you what you need as a defense to just keep going out there and fighting. That’s still in the down there.

Q: Despite the penalties, defensively how good to you feel after this game?

A: We feel really good. We know everything that happened was self-inflicted. Once you correct that, the sky is the limit.

Q: There’s a big difference between being 3-3 and 2-4?

A: That’s a big difference. You’re right in the hunt of things. You just have to keep fighting.

Q: When do you start focusing on the Rams? Do you celebrate today’s win?

A: Yes, but you have to get it out fast. Each week. You take it game by game. You want to just bottle it all in and get back to work.

Q: Did you think you made a good play and were you surprised to see the flag on the interference call?

A: Yes, I did think I made a good play because I held my inside position. That was critical to be inside. For the most part, I can’t argue that. It was a call that was made. I have to live with it.

Q: Did you feel like you got pushed?

A: I did but in my mind, I don’t think about it. There’s still more ball to be played.

Q: Is that a cornerback’s mentality?

A: That’s been my mentality. I’ve been around the league a long time. I have argued a lot of calls. It has never gotten me anywhere. I understand that he made it and I have to live with it.

Q: You seem to brush it off?

A: It can’t get to me. I know one thing at cornerback that if you lose your mind, it’s going to be a long day for you.

Q: You saw a lot of your guys getting pretty upset?

A: Yes. I tell them to calm down. If anyone is going to do it, let me do it. I know it’s a critical time in the game and we have to stay focused. Just try and hold them to three.

Q: Is that just the life of a cornerback now?

A: It’s hard to come back from that. At that time in the game, you could easily go in the tank. One thing I always know is that you have to keep fighting. That’s all I know.

No one asked him what the fuck they were doing on
