DE Jason Pierre-Paul
Postgame vs. Eagles – November 6, 2016
Q: The quarterback (Carson Wentz) started the season strong. Do you think that having more tape on him helped you out?
A: No, not at all. Like I told him (another reporter), we went out there and played some great defensive ball. No matter what situation that we get in, we just have to play some great defense. Everyone knows that the Giants are based on great defense, so that is what we came here to do. We played great defense and came out with the win.
Q: When you see that ball going into the end zone on the last play, were you nervous?
A: No, no worries. I knew that the corners were going to get it done. DRC was in here talking about it. He knew that he was going to break on that route. That is what vets do. We look at film and no matter how much we look at it; we just keep on looking at it until we feel secure with it. DRC got a great break on that.
Q: Were you surprised that they went for it on fourth down twice?
A: No, not at all. Like I said, Coach Spags has been preaching that they will go for it on fourth down and we were ready for it.
Q: Was that the momentum shifter for you guys?
A: Not at all. No, not at all. We are just playing some great defense.
Q: It must feel great to finally beat the Eagles.
A: Yeah, like I said, we are just taking it one game at a time. That is how we have to do it. We have to move on to the next game now. We have to put this win behind us and move on to the next one. One game at a time and if we do that, we should be good.
"At the end of the day" it's just a term one can fall into a pattern using.
He has been playing real well though regardless but I couldn't help but wonder.
