Q: What is it going to be like facing your old team?

A: It is not too often that you get to play against a team that you have played for, for so long, but I have a lot of respect for those guys in that locker room and I know how talented they are. Their record does not obviously show the type of team that they are, so we can’t take them easy, and it is going to be a fun game. I think it will be a good game. I think they will be ready to play. I saw that Pernell McPhee already is excited to play against Eli Manning. You have got to love Pernell. I love him. He is one of my favorite teammates of all time.

Q: Are you adjusted to New York yet?

A: I love it here. Our fans are great. The organization has been awesome. I am starting to get settled in now to the area, to the team, to the schedule. The teammates and the guys in this locker room are great. They really get it. They play for one another, they play really hard, the coaching staff has come up with great game plans every week, and we have had a great opportunity to win a lot of games. Hopefully this winning streak continues this week, that would be nice.

Q: Is your family still out in Chicago?

A: My family comes in Friday. We have a very, very big crew coming in for this game and it will be fun. It is going to be exciting. There are going to be a lot of guys trying to talk to me or give me a hug or see me before the game and I have a lot of respect for them, like they have for me. It is going to be fun to see all of those guys, but at the end of the day, I hope we win and end up making a playoff run, which is what is comes down to.

Q: Is your family going to hang around or will they go back to Chicago?

A: They will hang around for a little bit. Obviously for the holidays, but I don’t want to interrupt my kids’ routine. They have swim lessons, activities that they are involved in, and for them, it is easier back in Chicago right now then it would be here. So it is great because I can focus on football, I get to see them, and it is just one of those things that when you are rooted somewhere for so long this is just part of what the National Football League brings. You get cut late in camp, you are waiting for the right opportunity, and this has been amazing to play for the Giants organization and get this opportunity with these guys in the locker room.

Q: It took a lot of the NFL by surprise when the Bears let you go. Did it surprise you?

A: Yeah, I didn’t see it coming. Obviously, they cut me at nine o’clock at night on Sunday right before the first week, we never had conversations about that. I was preparing to play the Houston Texans, but they made a decision that my performance wasn’t what they were looking for, and those are decisions that organizations get to make. So for me, I am just excited to be in this locker room with a great group of guys, getting a chance to do what I love to do and do it to the best of my abilities and help the team win.

Q: John Fox said it was very difficult to release you. You didn’t spend that much time with him, but what are your thoughts on him as a coach?

A: He is a great coach. Obviously he has a long list of wins under his belt. He has coached teams to Super Bowls. There are tough decisions that get made all the time and they made decisions that they had to make to make their team better, and it is just something that they did. I am not mad about it. I am not upset about it. I had a great run there, and I hope we have a better run here Sunday than they do and realistically, I was talking to Coach McAdoo at practice, what do I have to be upset about? I got to play with one team for 11 years with a lot of great teammates, with a lot of good memories and they made a decision. I am really happy here, I love being a Giant, I love being in the Giants organization and I have a lot of respect for the guys that are going to be across from me playing, so hopefully we come out with a win.

Q: 6-3 is better than 2-7.

A: That is right. That is right.

Your KOs have been short. Is that by design?

Absolutely. I kept scrolling down looking for that question. We didn't need all questions about his old team
He sounds like a real good guy, the kind you like to root for

nice switch from Brown
We could have signed Brandon McManus

a young promising up and coming kicker and avoided ALL of this horseshit! But it was probably Coughlins parting gift for us, refusing to go into a season with a rookie kicker. He already ate the Matt Dodge bullet and that was messy. But still #FAIL.
Nice read. Sounds like a good guy
