Per Raanan on twittah!
I liked Thomas from the few snaps he played

Seems like a solid 3rd-4th DT in the rotation.

The Giants will be re-signing defensive tackle Robert Thomas, an exclusive rights free agent, a person with knowledge of the decision told NJ Advance Media.

Thomas is the second known ERFA the Giants will be bringing back, joining tight end Matt LaCosse. The team will not be re-signing wide receiver Ben Edwards, according to SNY. Tight end Will Tye and fullback Nikita Whitlock are the other pending ERFAs.

Thanks for that.

I guess Ben Edwards doesn't have enough promise to warrant the injury risk. Whitlock is likely gone with Will Johnson set to get 1 mill. We'll see, I suppose.
I was also pretty impressed

in his limited action.

He was an exclusive rights free agent, not a restricted free agent.

also reporting the Giants will NOT re-sign exclusive rights free agent WR Ben Edwards.
If they choose JPP over Hankins

I'm fine with Thomas/Bromley lining up next to Snacks. I know PFF is looked upon poorly here, but for what it's worth, they graded Hank out fairly low for his 2016 play. And, despite that, we were a tremendous run D. Snacks was the reason. I think we could survive a year with Thomas and Bromley at the 3 tech DT.
no objection

competion for all 53 roster spots,

fans get lost paying attention to the to top 22 spots on the roster, you need 53 to win

Can't think of a single play Bromley stood out to me, RT however caught my attention several times. Good rotational piece.

Source for the Hankins Grade???? I graded Him Highly.
Bromley is a different type of player then Thomas

Bromley is meant to be more the penetrator from inside, maybe like Cullen Jenkins. Smaller/Quicker compared to the other DTs. He's still obviously a massive man, but it's a tough comparison.

I don't know about grades,
Doomster : 2/14/2017 9:00 pm : link
but was not impressed with the play of Hankins.....teams were not double teaming him and he was not winning one on one battles, like the other three members of the line were....he is replaceable......Thomas had 3 Tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack in 8 games.....nothing special....he is there to give guys a breather....Bromley is not on the level of DT's drafted in the past....

This could be another situation, like the OL, where we go into the season with a known weakness and are not able to do anything about it...I doubt the draft is the answer.....have to hope we pick up someone better than Thomas/Bromley....
