Former Chiefs' QB Nick Foles is returning to Philadelphia on 2-year deal, per sources.
He would have been a good #2

for us. As such right now he is behind Chase Daniels for the backup role. Unless they trade Chase.
I'm sure they will trade

Daniels
Who would trade for Chase Daniel?
GiantGolfer : 3/13/2017 8:55 am : link
Especially considering how much he's getting paid? He's gonna be released.
They apparently have
Pete in MD : 3/13/2017 8:59 am : link
been trying to trade Daniel for a while now but don't have any takers. He makes a lot of money for a backup. Cutting him only saves $1 or 2M, depending on pre or post June 1st designation. $5M of his contract in 2017 is guaranteed.
Call me crazy, but

I've always thought Foles would eventually be a solid long-term NFL starter. I hope I'm wrong.
Smart move for Philly (unfortunately)

Makes sense to stockpile capable QB's (Daniel, Foles) behind Wentz for backup purposes, or if something like the Teddy Bridgewater injury happens again to a team for purpose of trade.
Wish we got him

As our backup
Foles is a solid backup QB - he's what you look for
PatersonPlank : 3/13/2017 10:11 am : link
A guy who can step in and play well enough when asked.
Philly was running on fumes capwise
jcn56 : 3/13/2017 10:16 am : link
Foles must have gone cheap, which would indicate the league didn't think much of his long term prospects.
11M over two years, 7M guaranteed.

We could do a lot worse

Backup QB Chase Daniel is expected to be cut today after asking for his release

He's getting paid Rhett Ellison money, and he's a guy who you'd hope won't take a snap over that contract. The only way this makes sense is if the Eagles manage to con some sucker team into trading them picks for him down the road (which they have a surprisingly good habit of doing).

Well if Romo slips through their fingers I can see Houston trading a late round pick for Daniels.
When are we trading

Ryan Nassib for a second round pick in the upcoming draft?

The fact that Eli makes what he does and that even backups are commanding fairly decent money leads me to believe they will either try to reach back out to Nassib to offer him a deal similar to what he was offered last time or draft another one in rd 4 or later. Having to pay almost 30 million for two players of the same position who cant play at the same time is just insane.

Hopefully we'll get the Saints first round pick.

Why though? He's a better option than Tom Savage who knows their system? I don't think so. Daniel is virtually worthless on the trade market.
