Big Country sighting

LOL great post B in ALB
Metnut : 3/17/2017 12:52 pm : link
I think Big Country and Kevin Pittsnogle are two random college bball players that I always loved watching.
As far as upsets go...
Metnut : 3/17/2017 12:55 pm : link
I feel like the obvious ones are #11 URI and #10 Wich State (both might even be favored in Vegas). I also like #10 Marquette.

For long shots... UCLA doesn't play defense so I'd give #14 Kent State a chance and #16 UC Davis is the best of the #16 seeds and KU is the worst so maybe that can be a miracle.

KU worst of the #1s I mean
Metnut : 3/17/2017 12:55 pm : link

Dude was a beast
B in ALB : 3/17/2017 12:56 pm : link
PITTSnogle! From the parking lot!

He had some trashy tatoos too.
Nice thread. The 3 stooges participating
Cruzin : 3/17/2017 1:16 pm : link

Metnut, your take on the ND/Princeton game couldn't have been more wrong. Both statements you made, "minor miracle ND won and Princeton took it to them" are completely inaccurate.

ND established control early and never relinquished it. The game was close because we were uncharacteristically missing free throws after being assaulted most of the game. Some of the contact by Princeton may have been criminal offenses.

B's whining that the referees were favoring ND because of the difference in foul totals proves he either didn't watch the game or doesn't know what he's seeing. Both options are equally possible.

You'll need to improve your analysis Nut, although you fit in well with these two amateurs at the moment.

BTW, Zaga would be the weakest 1 seed, not Kansas.

Have a Happy Irish Day!

Oh give it a rest already

The refs certainly didn't favor ND (you're right that we were mugged left and right) but doesn't change the fact that ND played their worst game in at least a month. The defense (Farrell in particular) was awful down the stretch with PU shooting open corner 3s everywhere. The 3 alums I watched the game with all felt the same way.

If you think ND played good yesterday I don't know what to tell you. It's a testament to Brey and the program that we're advancing after laying egg vs a good team rather than being ousted. After playing 9:50 tipoffs all last week, I think the noon tipoff and Colson being off with an ankle hurt them. I expect them to do better vs WVU.

Nuk, Nuk, Nuk
Cruzin : 3/17/2017 1:25 pm : link

OK Curly
Wow. New Mexico State with the lead
B in ALB : 3/17/2017 1:28 pm : link
Over Baylor at the half.

I don't think we played well yesterday, just offering some constructive comments about your analysis. I know you're an Irish fan and would take it for what it's worth.

Best game of the tourney thus far.
Montross was a very good college player
Greg from LI : 3/17/2017 2:11 pm : link
His raw numbers aren't as impressive as Reeves', but then he played for Dean Smith. Even Michael Jordan couldn't match Reeves' scoring when he played for Dean.
About that Scott Drew comment....
Greg from LI : 3/17/2017 2:11 pm : link
Never mind
Horrible shot by Walton who's been fantastic
Cruzin : 3/17/2017 2:12 pm : link

almost let State back in but they miss two wide open 3's and push off. Michigan ball coming out of the commercial.

As entertains a game as I can remember this year.
entertaining
Cruzin : 3/17/2017 2:18 pm : link

Walton again!

32-6 run. They look really good.
That should have been OK States ball
montanagiant : 3/17/2017 2:23 pm : link
The missed free throws killed them and than Evans misses a lay up SMH
Got to call your banks, right?
Cruzin : 3/17/2017 2:25 pm : link

State won't die!
What is Oklahoma State Mentality?
B in ALB : 3/17/2017 2:27 pm : link
.
2nd missed lay up
montanagiant : 3/17/2017 2:28 pm : link
nice put back though.
Walton ices it
Cruzin : 3/17/2017 2:29 pm : link

give that man an MVP pin.
Damn
Cruzin : 3/17/2017 2:31 pm : link

I guess Wilson iced it!

What a great game.
That was a great great game
B in ALB : 3/17/2017 2:31 pm : link
Make a layup and it's the Cowyboys advancing. Crazy.
Michigan
MotownGIANTS : 3/17/2017 2:32 pm : link
with a gritty performance.
Iona putting up a good fight early against Oregon
Greg from LI : 3/17/2017 2:32 pm : link
.
Oklahoma State
MookGiants : 3/17/2017 2:37 pm : link
played a hell of a game.

Michigan made a million threes in the 2nd half and OK State still had a chance to win.
If Solomon could box out the quicker
Cruzin : 3/17/2017 2:42 pm : link

Wilson a little better, State would have done better on the boards. Evans missed at least 4 lay ups that I counted. Can't blame the score total on his last missed layup, that banked in three has no business going in.

Both teams fearless on offense, not much collective defense going on but there were some great individual defensive plays.

Both teams looked strong. Michigan might do some damage.

Let me guess, Notre Dame should have been the 1 seed as opposed to the Zags.
That three at the buzzer from Oklahoma State

Had them cover at +2.5. That's a brutal beat.

Replay is ruining sports. The refs are now overanalyzing everything - of course it's going to look worse in slow-mo.
Moronic call
