If you count slot corner as a starter (DRC) b/c maybe the Giants open in nickel that's 7 of 11 starters solid or better. If Thompson pans out it's 8 of 11. Though Snacks might not be on the field in nickel, either way it's 7 or 8 really good players locked in for the next few years.
Just need to develop Goodson and the Hankins replacement and fill in around the core could be the best Giants defenses in the Eli era.
I'd include Casillas or Kennard, but not trying to overrate our players.
I'd like to see the Giants sign a veteran DE for pure depth/insurance, someone like Chris Long or Dwight Freeney - the Giants I believe have become a desired free agent destination for veterans who want a ring or another ring and are willing to play for cheap.
And getting Thompson back (and hopefully completely healthy) is like an extra pick considering he didn't play hardly at all last year.............
Regardless, that's some amazing talent. Get some dominating LB's in here and you can QB and have success!
Wtf are you even talking about?

Both just posted pics of themselves with DRC... Something could be going on, no asshat here just saying, its been unusual, they just posted tweets of pics with themselves and DRC..? Idk maybe nothing.

There is a new thread regarding this. IDK what it means yet. Something could happen with DRC.
Hence the "pray for health" comment to start the OP.
Man, that picture hurts. I remember thinking Nicks and Cruz would be a fixture on this offense for a decade.
this defense is loaded, and will be a top 5 unit for the foreseeable future ... add in Marshall to a corp with Beckham/Shep and hopefully a slight improvement (at least) in the run game ...

Like, history books special. I officially can't wait for this season.
Hope so. But he could not get on the field much his first year, despite playing behind mediocre players. So I wouldn't count on it.

He was a rookie and it's asking a lot for any rookie MLB to run a veteran defense. And note that the two ahead of him on the depth chart (Robinson and Sheppard) were both seasoned vets playing on one year deals. And neither has been re-signed at this point in time.
A 3 technique DT
A 4th corner
Depth at DE
And remain healthy
Will complete our defense

If 4th corner is high on the needs list I think we're in pretty good shape.
as a fan I would really enjoy seeing an A list, multifunctional, badass 'football play making' DT sandwiched between JPP and Snacks, holy crap we could do some shit there.
IOWords, to me a 2 function DT (vs run and vs pass) is a lynchpin or multiplier in a similar way to how a two function TE (run block, pass pro and catch as well) does.
in that one can then mix and match the gap responsibilities ad infinitum without tipping ones hand with substitutions.
in addition, DT is a physically wearing function to say the least.
