Anyone else surprised AP is still out there?

CarsHURT'86 : 3/17/2017 7:30 pm
....

If we could get him on the cheap, I think he would be worth the risk.
Not surprised.
81_Great_Dane : 3/17/2017 7:32 pm : link
And I don't want him for the Giants, not even at veteran minimum.
Multiple serious injuries...
Torrag : 3/17/2017 7:35 pm : link
...lots of baggage and past his prime. Not surprised.
Jamaal Charles
NYG27 : 3/17/2017 7:36 pm : link
I'd rather get Jamaal Charles for vet minimum, plus incentives if he plays a full 16 game season.

Charles should be interested in joining NY with only Paul Perkins as his competition for the starting RB job. RB core of Charles\Perkins and Shane Vereen on 3rd downs would be a great trio.
Was he past his

prime in 2015?
Peterson still has superstar complex
dk in TX : 3/17/2017 7:42 pm : link
He is not remotely as good as he was in his prime but he may still want to break the bank.
We need a cohesive locker-room where everyone respects our young head-coach. PASS.
Don't care if he was in his prime

Child beater has no place in NYG.
Not at all.

Better to develop a young running back then overpay an older one. The guy is only going to go down hill. Time passes for everyone.
Not surprised
illmatic : 3/17/2017 7:58 pm : link
He probably just wants more money than he's worth at this point. I think he ends up on the Raiders.
builid up your OL

No. He's done.

After what happened with Josh Brown
The_Boss : 3/17/2017 8:49 pm : link
I doubt the NYG would want the PR circus that would certainly come with AP.
Not surprised at all
UConn4523 : 3/17/2017 8:50 pm : link
more and more teams don't want the baggage and his injuries are adding up.
I think we end up with

Starks from GreenBay. He knows the offense and could be good with Perkins and Vereen.
I don't expect they'll go for a free agent RB.

Because that (Ahmad) never happens (Bradshaw)
Not really ....
Beer Man : 3/17/2017 10:05 pm : link
He's old for an NFL RB, has a lot of mileage, and has been through a number of injuries.
Fuck him
GiantsRage2007 : 3/17/2017 10:38 pm : link
He's a POS

And he's washed up
Let's get Blount instead
Koffman : 3/17/2017 11:34 pm : link
He doesn't have a injury of significant injury, and has more TD's than both Peterson and Charles combined over the last two years. He shouldn't cost us as much either.

he is 32 years old
No...
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 3/18/2017 5:19 am : link
He's just about finished.

As for the 'Well, the child abuse charges are a huge impediment' crowd...agreed, but if he was 2012 AP, lots of teams would overlook that & make a run after him.
I'd be more interested in Blount...
Rafflee : 3/18/2017 6:07 am : link
..a guy who's used to filling a team roll.

AP has been in an FOR AP OFFENSE... add in the Personal Stuff and Just Say NO!

old, often injured, previous personal issues.
Not surprised
dank41 : 3/18/2017 7:51 am : link
but do agree he would be worth it at a certain price. I would say his price tag is the #1 reason why he is still on the market, maybe the other stuff too, but I'm guessing he's shooting a little too high.

I was very much against his fit here
bigblue12 : 3/18/2017 9:08 am : link
but I have come around a little with the addition of Ellison. If he comes CHEAP, I would consider it. All we heard last year was that the opposing defenses were sitting back in zone and daring the Giants to run. Do you think they still do that with Adrian Peterson back there? If so, I think he can still be somewhat effective against boxes that are not stacked, even with this line. I would consider it.
Fumble-prone RBs past their prime
dpinzow : 3/18/2017 3:39 pm : link
with a domestic violence history are usually not popular with GMs, even one with Adrian Peterson's storied career
Paul Perkins

. He'll do.
