PP played 95% percent of the snaps last season. Vernon played 94%. Giants need DE reinforcements:

It's a pass rush thing. They combined for 1.5 sacks last year. DBs had eight

Reddick is interesting - he plays like a mini Kalil Mack. I just doubt the Giants would ever take a 6'1" 230# linebacker - I saw Finding Giants too.
I tend to think it will be Njoku or Ramzyck but a DL would not surprise me. If Hankins walks, then I would say about a 90% chance it will be a DL.
You wouldn't consider Geno Atkins or Aaron Donald pass-rushers? Why not?
They have a lot of money tied up in DE, yes, but a rookie will be cost controlled, and JPP and Vernon will be at the end of their contracts by the time the rookie needs to be paid.
I think a pass rushing threat, even if one-dimensional, to spell Vernon and JPP would be a wise way to keep the rush from tiring and to protect the investment they've made.
Vernon and JPP were on the field a little too much.
Personally, I'd rather see the Giants draft an OLB with some pass-rush ability instead of a DE early on because we're much, much thinner at OLB than we are at DE. I also noted in the Barnett thread that Okwara is only 22 years-old and still has a lot to learn, but there's no denying he's made great strides since signing as a UDFA last year. I have high hopes for this kid.
Not saying they can't use another pass rusher or more talent at defensive end, just saying I have no idea if any of those guys can play until I see them more
This is unless a Blue Chipper falls -- then you take them whether Defensive or Offensive -- but that's highly unlikely at 23
In fact, I'd be surprised if they don't come out of the draft with one of each.

It's not an "either/or," it's a question of which position should be prioritized. For me, in this draft, it should be DT.

Vernon and several others on defense played far too many snaps last season to be sustainable or healthy, so there's definitely room for some roleplayers on this defense. Okwara flashed a little bit, and that's a good start, but we can't have defensive lineman playing 95% of the snaps again. You run the risk of guys breaking down.
