Have the Giants checked out any alternatives if Hank leaves? Can't imagine they think they already have enough on the roster, so is plan B to allocate draft resources to DT?
Do they not like anybody else on the open market? Do they not see themselves needing leverage?
If they haven't met with any FA DT at all they're confident that Hankins will both cave and that plan B is their best recourse in the event that he doesn't
My money is on Jason Odrick at about $4 million per yr.
Likely a negotiating tactic in part. I'm guessing they are fine not paying top dollar for the 4th starting DLineman but at the same time would love for Bromley and Thomas to be depth instead of potential starters.
I think its clear we either get Hankins back or will quickly sign the best veteran DT on the market if Hankins signs elsewhere.

Odrick was more of a Chris Conty type player.
