"This is what it's been all about,'' (TU GM Bob)Belber said. "This is fantastic. For us to be able to land a 2019 East Regional women's basketball championship and follow that with 2020 first and second rounds on the men, that's what we were hoping for. We're happy as could be."

The 2020 men's games will be played the weekend of March 19-22.

Belber said tickets likely won't go on sale for the 2020 men's tournament until about a year beforehand.

The 1995 men's games at Times Union Center, then known as Knickerbocker Arena, sold out almost a year in advance. The 2003 regional saw an Orange-dominated crowd of 15,207 cheer for Syracuse's victory over Oklahoma in the Elite Eight at the building then-renamed Pepsi Arena.
