Streak comes to an end at 8 yesterday. However, Severino put up a sensational start - recording 10 SO over 8 innings while allowing only 3 hits and 3 ER. So far, so good with the decision to keep him in the rotation.
Few other notes:
1- Severino became the youngest Yankee pitcher ever to record 10+ SO and 0 BB in a start. He also became the youngest Yankee to record 9+ SO in back-to-back starts since Al Leiter in 1989.
2- Didi starting rehab games on Friday.
3- Gleyber Torres has bicep tendinitis. He'll have an MRI soon.
4- Clint Frazier had a homerun yesterday. Starting to get hot
5- Despite the loss yesterday and the early season struggles, the Yankees have the best run differential in the AL by 6 runs. They are tied with the Dodgers for the second best run differential in the MLB.
2 swept series TB and Cards.

Very intrigued by Severino who I had given up on in my head. He's always had the stuff to be a champion, but I had questions about his mental makeup which is just as important as having a great arm. Baseball history is littered with pitchers who flamed out even though they had a cannon for an arm or could throw a ten foot hook, but never learned the mental aspect of the game. Seems to me Severino is now getting the pitchers' brain that is needed to be a star. And he's so young that he's just starting on his long term run as a Yankee great (knock on wood)
I have not heard anything about Chance Adams. Is there any word on how well his season has started?
Adams: 2 GS 11.1 IP 4 H 6 BB 13 SO 0.79 ERA 0.88 WHIP
Sheffield: 2 GS 11.2 IP 5 H 7 BB 11 SO 0.77 ERA 1.03 WHIP
Only thing not to like so far (for both of them) is the BBs.
At some point people are going to have to acknowledge this kids as a front of the line pitching prospect. I think analysts unfairly ding him because he used to be a reliever. But his results as a starter are consistently outstanding.
Thats the best news of all. Man at first that injury looked like a 4 monther or worse.
Headley 3B
Holliday DH
Ellsbury CF
Castro 2B
Judge RF
Bird 1B
Romine C
Torreyes SS
With Tanaka, of course, on the mound.
On top of it the guy he puts in (Pete Kozma) boots an easy double play ball(which would have got Severino out of the inning) before Garcia's 3 run bomb. Why?? Are they trying to showcase the guy for something in a trade? Didi can not get back fast enough.

taking Headley out of yesterdays line up, the guy is on fire.

Two things:
#1) it would not have gotten Severino out of the inning. It would have been two outs with Abreu coming up. I doubt Abreu bunts and pops up with two out and nobody on base.
#2) Kozma makes that play 99 times out of 100. Errors happen and they happen at bad times - just like hanging a breaking ball to a guy hitting .450 is bad. While I agree that it was "dumb" to give Headley the night off when he is hot, it is necessary in the long run that the older guys, especially, get days off.
Unfortunate, but if they win 8 and lose one, we'll all take that! Hell win 3 lose 2 gets you 96 wins.

Thank you for the details about Adams and Sheffield. Nice to see they are doing really well. Wish the walks were down, but I will take what I can take.
This is a touchback.

Tanaka is not sharp at all.
Now romine Knocks in Judge 3-0 yanks. 1st and 3rd, bird on 3rd no outs

Why would people be watching the Texas Rangers?
Considering you can't run the catcher anymore...No is the answer?

New police show?
Good news is Chance Adams pitching yet another gem.
Stat of the day - Hoy Jun Park has 8 errors in 11 games. Hitting .390 with 2 HRs won't matter with that fielding.
