(1) "Montana is on the ground....Taylor is in the End Zone"....Pat Summerall.
(2) "And the kick is good.....there will be no three-peat"....Pat Summerall.
when Chris Collinsworth said "We should have these teams play every year in the Super Bowl" or something like that. Gave me chills.
NE could win all their games, and Brady could have all his 50td seasons.
But it wouldn't do them any good if they met the Giants on the field at the end.
said by Summerall ....I can still hear him say ..."Touchdown Giants" But my all-time favorite line by him or any announcer for that matter ..."That's not snow...it's celebration" from the 1986 playoff game against the Redskins when it became more clear that the game was over.Truth be told the game was over before they even kicked it off.
"And the NY Giants given last rites by many in December
1990 NFC Championship Game after Marshall crushed Montana...."and the report from the bench is....everything hurts". Summerall was the best and this was THE BEST football game I ever watched. "There will be no three-peat" also high on the list.
"The snap the spot the kick it's up and it's..... good.. good ! "The Giants are going to Tampa" Jim Gordon Giants radio announcer with the call. 1990 Championship game.
RE: Bob Papa, during replay of the Toomer TD in the divisional playoff
There's a YouTube clip of the Pats' radio announcers' call of the play. After the sideline ref gives the catch-in-bounds signal, color guy says, "I gotta see this."
He's expressing his disbelief but at the same time there is a note that he already knows the Pats are screwed again.
isss caught for the touchdown! Unbelievable! Hakeem Nicks, on a last second heave, by Eli Manning. The play that set it up, and then 37 yards to Hakeem Nicks, for a remarkable touchdown here at Lambaeu."
"Simms... with people in his face... touchdown to Bobby Johnson!"
"Elway is looking for a target... goes out to the right side, INTERCEPTED... George Martin, 30, 45, at the 45 Elway takes him and breaks a tackle... 40, 35, 30 for Martin, at the 20 , Martin to the 10, he's in!"
"McConkey comes in motion from the right hand side, Simms drops back to the 40, Simms throwssssssssssssss.... complete if he's in!"

Summerall was the best but even he couldn't resist a little homerism.

Did Joe Buck say "there will be no undefeated season!" after the Patriots lost 42?
Something to keep in mind that while Summerall is the GOAT, he wasn't above a little homerism himself, which I know bothers many on here about alleged pro-Cowboy or anti-Giants bias from some announcers.
He held the top NFC teams back in 80s/90s in high regards during his broadcasts.
I say this because i recall thinking back during those big game matchups we had with Bears, Redskins and Niners how complementary he was of the teams and players. I wondered how he was a former-Giant even...

Summerall - the report from the sideline is "everything hurts"
"Word from the bench - - - EVERYTHING HURTS!!"
Best line ever.

Classic Marty Glickman
-- Bob Papa
-Al Michaels after SB 46
Sincerely,
Russ Hodges
Always loved that one
Amazing just how awful the pre-game shows are nowadays.
John Madden
Always loved that one
Haha totally forgot about that. Great line.
He's expressing his disbelief but at the same time there is a note that he already knows the Pats are screwed again.
Jim Gordon on WNEW: "Simms has the ball...Simms...........endzooooonnnnnee........touchdown maybe.....YES!!"
The Fumble, 1978
I don't even know who was calling that game.
One from Pat Summerall and two from Jim Gordon.
"Simms... with people in his face... touchdown to Bobby Johnson!"
(and yes, I transcribed them : )
And every punt was "a high twisting spiral".
Instant classic...

Beat me to it!
Can't understand how someone could choose an AIkman quote over our boy Bob Papa, lol
On field, LT "Let's go out there like a bunch of crazed dogs."
Scoreboard pre tech-age " I'm just wild about Harry, and Harry's......Wild!"
Recent broadcast call - Chris Collinsworth "That is absolutely impossible what he just did. That may be the greatest catch I've seen in my life"
It's high enough...
It's deep enough...
It's good!
haha... I have it memorized.. and it was actually:
"35 seconds left... Manning... LOBS IT... Burress.. alone.. TOUCHDOWN NEW YORK!"
