he is poking balls out with his forearms. Another season with MLB hitting coaches and he could be devastating.
4-3
I hope so. There has been speculation that the Yanks could trade him for SP or 1B help. But I hope he continues to make all decisions (i.e., trade or demotion when Hicks returns) very difficult. The team has:
- Hicks who is 27 and just now having his first good season (who knows if it is a short lived run of success)
- Gardner a good hard nose player who is well into his 30s
- Jacoby an injury waiting to happen, also well into his 30's.
- The next potential all stars in the minors (e.g., Rutherford & Florial) are still 2 to 3 seasons away from the bigs.
With all this, I don't think the team can risk trading Frazier; a budding star who can play now.
pitches almost in or in the opposite batters box to be called strikes. These people need to be called on the carpet.
I can understand the occasional miss, but consistently calling pitches 4 to 6 inches off the plate at 96 mph is just unjustifiable.
month, they usually get shit or at best, a start like Sevi had yesterday.
Pineda, Tanaka, and even Severino haven't come through when they need to take a rubber game. They have a 10.45 ERA in the last 6 rubber games these guys have pitched.
Lose another fucking series. Can't win two in a row. I don't see it changing in the second half either.. September 10th can't get here soon enough.
Try and stay calm. It's been a brutal month but these games are so close the law of averages will even out. Sucks I really wanted this series before the four game set with the scumbags.
Yanks are gonna start catching the breaks again. This team is solid, warts and all. Solid teams win eventually. Just needs to happen and fast.
I wish I could be optimistic about the second half of the season, but I'm not. How can the whole team not be down in the dumps? A few wins in a row, especially winning close games, and some strong performances by the starting pitching and the BP would help. That doesn't seem probable, though, sad to say.
Tanaka like like shit.
unreal.
well 4 inches - but there has been a lot of those called against the Yanks in the past week.

on a pitch a foot outside of the zone. Fuck you Vanover.

With the current exchange rate to CDN, that is a Canadian foot outside.
I want a win today. Nelson has been plenty hittable.
4-3
If the RedSox lose today and we win, we are within range for our upcoming series to tie them up I do believe.
Thought they were going to challenge that - kid reach out for the ball....

Not quite. That was half way to the dugout..

right in Vanover's extended zone.

I mean the first strike called out that way influenced his chasing strike 3.
6-5
HR call - not indisputable - should stand.
..OVERTURNED?
Give Judge another homer from earlier this season then. Jesus fucking hell.
Yes. Vanover's crew's up our ass.
We are winning this GD game.
Girardi should have taken the occasion to start his AS break early.
Choi has some fugly swings when he is off.
This game is maddening.
Seems not meant to be today.
I can't wait for walkoff pie today.
Is there another team close to the Astros? See if they can maintain through Sept & Oct.
Houston vs. LAD/WAS seems pretty clear at this point.
Nothing about him has looked right for two months. I think he is playing injured....which makes the Bird story more worthy of discussion.

Fixed
Didn't we fix this Braves strike zone years ago?

but Sanchez arm just doesn't look the same since the bicep injury - accuracy especially.

No it doesn't. Either he's healthy or he's not. Remember it took them 3 or 4 weeks to find Teix's broken leg.
Sanchez has only looked bad at the plate last couple weeks. He was up to .300 and stroking the ball nicely.
That was fucking ridiculous. I think you're being nice, it was at least 6 inches outside. Another ump in too big a hurry to hit the shower
6-5
Ahahahhahahahaha fake new!!!!!

They should pull the umps aside and argue that for several minutes

Between the plate an the Box - about 3 inches is correct, FWIW.
MLB does not have email. Was looking to register a complaint about the strike zone in this series and there is no email.

I'm obviously angry and possibly exaggerating:) Who knows, and who knows if the Yanks get a big hit anyway.
