Davis USA Today: Ranking NFL secondaries: Seahawks still set standard, surprise team cracks Top 5
"3. New York Giants: S Landon Collins (125 tackles, 4 sacks, 5 INTs) emerged as an impact player, finishing third in voting for NFL defensive player of the year behind Khalil Mack and Von Miller. The arrival of CB Janoris Jenkins was another significant reason for last year's defensive turnaround. He leads a promising trio that includes Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and 2016 first rounder Eli Apple. But the Giants will need upgraded play at free safety."

I'm loving the Cousins ESPN article...
Dan in the Springs : 7/11/2017 2:04 pm : link
the deadline is a week away and although there are some positive comments I'm hoping they get stuck without a long-term deal.

Why? If he plays well - they're screwed, and if he doesn't - they're screwed. The article mentions that they like Colt McCoy. Good luck with that.

Washington "pays" one way or another. I'm hoping Washington gives him the biggest mega-deal and we sack him a half-dozen times, knocking him out of the game and a few more that Washington then loses. LOL. All kidding aside, I wish no ill will on anyone, but the Skins overpaying for someone would be nice.
OL development is the key: we ranked 18th giving up 169 pressures
SGMen : 7/11/2017 6:25 pm : link
Instead of buying unrestricted free agents, the Giants seem committed to sticking with the very same five starting players—Ereck Flowers, Justin Pugh, Weston Richburg, John Jerry and Bobby Hart—who ranked 24th in run blocking and 2nd in pass blocking per Football Outsiders.
The decision was especially surprising given the mostly downs turned in by the two young offensive tackles. Per Pro Football Focus, Flowers finished 37th out of 40 offensive tackles who played in 75 percent or more of his team’s snaps; Hart, ranked 31st out of that same group.

It was eventually learned that Reese’s decision to stay away from the premium free agents was based on both Flowers and Hart re-dedication to improving their craft by staying in East Rutherford to work on their strength and their stamina."

This offense ranked 2nd in pass blocking last year? Has to be due to Eli's quick release and nothing more, right????

Regardless, last year was last year. I think our OT play will improve; I think Fluker wants it which is why he was willing to play to a one year deal; and, I know Pugh wants big money as does Richburg, who went to Bentley's OL camp this off-season to perfect his craft. I see nothing but hard work across the board and it will show on the field this year (year #2 Solari, year #3 for group on team) and Eli will be relieved.

Better OL; Better TE play; more speed & size. This offense is going to be DEADLY if it stays healthy.
