Was talking about this a couple days ago with a co-worker. Thought it was interesting, at least lower-level interesting, how people believe apologies should or shouldn't go.
For example, is saying to someone "I apologize" an actual apology? I'm not a fan.
I'd at least like to hear someone say they're sorry, or they regret their words or actions. They don't have to pour it on. But at least a little effort, some sincerity, can go a long way.
Where do you stand on this important, pressing issue?
If someone does something wrong and they say to you I apologize vs I'm sorry how does that seem different to you?

That's another nuance to the whole apology thing. Like the idiot who's in the courtroom, saying he's sorry for whatever. He's not sorry. He's sorry he got caught.
