Maybe the mets should take him back at the pro rated 3 million though to eat some innings down the stretch. Fans really took to him here. I just feel like Kelly Johnson should also be included in this deal somehow though.

Somebody on NYFS with connections actually brought it up a week ago and said Cabrera is not alone. Actually, there are a few others creating problems in the locker room with some being players "we wouldn't expect". I think it's pretty clear Cabrera is the ring leader though.
As for DFA him? He is one of the worst players in baseball this year. He isn't hitting league average and his defense has been atrocious. He's a negative WAR player and he's been starting the majority of the year? What could he possibly bring back at the deadline? Also, if he preventing Rosario from getting called up and is truly a "cancer" in the locker room, I would have no problem cutting bait now.
