sorry this is kind of lengthy,
I refinished my basement recently and I had the carpet installed by a national installer.
They asked after the job was done via email if I would provide a recommendation on their website, they said if I did they'd give me a $15 Amazon gift card. They said only if we were happy would they ask us to provide a recommendation (so don't say anything I don't feel is true and if I'm not happy address it with them directly, not in a review).
they actually did a good job, they were fast, clean, good price, I had no complaints so I wrote a recommendation, took me less than 5 minutes.
I got a $15 gift card.
the sales guy then emailed me and said they'd give me $100 more, two $50 Amazon gift cards if I'd write a positive review on yelp and google.
I did (I actually just copied and pasted the exact same review but so what), I let the guy know and sent him links to the reviews and he sent me one $50 gift card. I followed up with him with the links again, he said he saw the google recommendation, but not the yelp, I sent him the link to the yelp review a third time.
Still haven't heard back (been a week). Truth is even though they did a good job I would not have provided a recommendation without the incentive.
So, now I am wondering should I push it with him to get the other $50 or should I remove the yelp review or should I create a yelp review that says they stiffed me on the $50 Amazon gift card they said they'd give me if I provided a positive review on yelp?
It's not like I'm hurting for a $50 Amazon gift card, I just don't like being played. What would you do?
Move on....life is too short.
