Very very interesting seeing Frazier in the 2 hole tonight.
Headcase down to 7. And what's this? No Torreyes? My eyes can't believe what they're seeing.
1. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
2. Clint Frazier (R) LF
3. Aaron Judge (R) RF
4. Matt Holliday (R) DH
5. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
6. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
7. Chase Headley (S) 3B
8. Garrett Cooper (R) 1B
9. Austin Romine (R) C
Facing Adalberto Mejia
4-4
4.43 ERA
2. Zack Granite (L) CF
3. Joe Mauer (L) 1B
4. Miguel Sano (R) 3B
5. Max Kepler (L) RF
6. Kennys Vargas (S) DH
7. Eddie Rosario (L) LF
8. Ehire Adrianza (S) SS
9. Jason Castro (L) C
That's what DH is for. But in this case, he caught 16 innings on Saturday and then had to catch again last night because of the double header. I'm sure he could use a day off
It's not silly at all, but I have a hunch that despite his athleticism Judge will be there long term at some point. He's got a large frame to maintain and I think that would help. That said, same can be said of Gary, but we don't have any other catching candidates to fill his shoes. We do have some potential OF candidates to fill Judge's.
Agree it was never a matter of heart. And although this is a completely different aspect, it's now fair to call him injury prone. And I'm not talking about little injuries here and there, but injures that are serious enough for surgery. I think it'd be wise to look into other 1B options in the future, and anything you get from Bird being a bonus. I like the guy, but he's sadly injury prone and has had 2 surgeries within 2-3 years on his lower body. Worrisome for sure.

How do all you assholes that were questioning his heart feel now? I'm sure you'll go into hiding in the subject but you know who you are. And Randy Levine can suck it too. I'm sure he will keep mum on his comments as well.

How do you figure ? He had one serious injury and this unrelated relatively minor one that was misdiagnosed . He had no injuries prior to the shoulder
Bird will mash. Sadly not before next year but let's not forget how good he is. The bigger issue this season was miscalculating with Carter as plan B. Hopefully Cooper/Choi or someone else on-the-cheap steps into that role.

Sitting Sanchez the 1st game yesterday was understandable. Benching him tonight makes NO fucking sense!
Well, you could ask Sanchez about it.
Hey Percy, I rarely see you on threads. After that moronic response,I understand why!!!
You weren't on here enough then. There were plenty of people questioning Birds heart on this site. On particular poster said it was in his head. And these posts have been going on much before the "unnamed team source" article came out. That was very recently. I had several disagreements with posters that were killing Bird.
And I don't think it is exploratory surgery. They haven't announced yet but there were rumors itcwas to remove an extra bone in his foot that should not be there.

Maybe if some posters were capable of contributing more than incessant whining about joey binders, more posters would be inclined to join in
He's a Staten Island boy too

Don't know where you're coming from as I don't frequent the nightly whining sessions because of that. Maybe you should know that before you throw me into the "whining group", my gripe is Sanchez is one of your better players yet Girardi finds a way to catch Romine 3 days a week, even if it's not a day game after a night game.Unless Sanchez is hurt, that's just not good baseball. Thanks again for your insight!!!

I haven't been on much lately, but admittedly find the binders nickname stupid and the constant whining about Girardi tiresome. He's far from perfect, certainly fair to debate his decisions, but the daily complaining gets old.
As for Sanchez, none of us know for sure, but i suspect he's been taking a real beating behind the plate this season. Girardis obviously trying to keep him fresh

Not that it matters... you just don't see many Asian athletes with his physique.
No. This is the ex giant who they traded to the twins for all star former Yankee Eduardo "scissor hands" Nunez

Thanks DiD
Making me nervous.
Joe would rather sit El Gary 3 days before resting Judge or DHing him.
Just throw Holliday at 1B for the remainder of the year and burn him out.
It's very important to me the Yankees finish above .500 before our new dynasty starts

It was bound to happen.

Me too a little bit. He's missing these breaking balls right over the plate.
I really hope it's not a derby issue.
That HR but-for-bradley would have evened things out somewhat.
A catcher who calls a great game and has speedsters thinking twice on the basepaths is more important than one who hits .275 and smacks 40 home runs. If Sanchez can be both, he will be worth his weight in gold, but is he?
Just an awful play by Mitchell. That said, Cooper was way out of position.
I get the sentiment, but that is a lot harder than a little league play. But very demoralizing for the Yanks and breaths life into the Twins.
Gfy, Adam.
