While all the attention has been on LT Flowers, RT Hart has been less than impressive (not playing the last game and playoff game against GB).
The Giants drafted Bisnowaty late and have ex USC Wheeler and possibly Fluker as competition (something tells me that one of them will take Hart's job); as a big improvement ? Probably not.
Time will tell.
Hart is in great shape as well and he has worked harder than anyone to keep the starting job and I hope that he earns it because that would allow Bisnowaty and Wheeler time to develop. I haven't been this excited about the backup offensive linemen in a very long time.
I am cautiously optimistic.
. Second year with offensive line coach
. Second year starting
. Superb work ethic
. Ellison helps him
. Anticipated improvement with Jerry (he's been to the offseason camp again) and/or Fluker help.
it might not be relevant, but when OBJ was having one of his hissy's last year, it's Hart that grabbed him and talked harshly to him. At the time I thought the kid has a sense of self and has to have some regard to get in OBJ's face. I think he gets the "David Diehl" label we've been looking to hang on some many people. Overachiever, tough, wonderful workethic, all he can be and rises up in big occasions and a team leader.
Overall I am worried that the 'off-season giddies' are having their way with me, because i think we're looking at the best team in football. And if the line comes together (and I think that's odd's on to happening) we're looking at a team with no weaknesses.
I can not I matinee any rookie this year would do better....possibly Fluker.
But we do seem to have some young players with potent.
We still could use a veteran.....as back=up and help teach the kids.....or step in if no one steps up
...his draft position to a greater extent than our LT.
Nuff said.
I did notice, once he locks up someone, game over, he does not get beat. Think he is quite powerful so I can see where the guard label came from.
We all want Flowers to play like a first rounder....can he possibly change his technique against speed rushers? we want Pugh and Richburg to be healthy again....Was it an injury or film that was the reason for Richburg's fall from grace? but the right side of the line is a cluster f*ck, and we are asking late round picks and another potential bust to step in and perform miracles...
If Eli can get rid of the ball quickly, it will negate their faults....if he has to hold onto it longer, better hope the TE's and Backs do a better job of blocking....
This offensive line is what it is....if there is improvement, it might be slight......but somehow it has to play somewhat better than last season...
You've gotta have heart
All you really need is heart
When the odds are sayin' you'll never win
That's when the grin should start
You've gotta have heart
Miles 'n miles n' miles of heart
Oh, it's fine to be a genius of course
But keep that old horse

YANKEES!!!!!!!!
Athletes on the left side, ass-kickers on the right!
He didn't do it well but, seemingly, beat out the rest of the "competition" the Front Office has put up against him thus far.
on strength and conditioning . Not sure what one would
expect from a late round draft pick . If he is dedicated
to getting stronger and well conditioned I would expect
him to play much better in hopes he can develop into
a legitimate starter at worst a solid back up .
He's interesting because of his college production, but that hit a snag in his Senior year; and looking at him up close, he has smaller feet than I do and I'm 6'1" size 12. His top part looks like an NFL lineman -- but not the bottom part. It's hard to imagine him taking on NFL caliber Defenses right now.
We'll see more next week - but that's my impression.
Competition is a beautiful thing..
2. Second year with the same off. coach.
3. Line is intact and should develop continuity.
4. 22 years old
5. Addition of Ellison **
6. Extensive workouts in the off-season.
Anyone of those suggests improvement, the cumulative impact has to be significant. That doesn't mean he'll be good, just that he'll be better.
And "better" should be enough.
