NFT: Self back-pat - won a golf tournament today

The member-member at my club. Probably the second most prestigious tournament that we have.Similar format to the member guest at many clubs. Ten flights of 4 teams. Won our flight easily, and won the ten team playoff (alternate shot format). After I topped my 8 iron out of the rough on the last hole, my partner hit a beautiful pitch from 40 yards to about 5 feet, and I made a downhill 5 footer with about six inches of break to win it. It's a thrill to win the crystal -- totally unexpected in this case since I haven't played much lately.

When you least expect it.

Golf is a funny game. Was having one of my worst rounds, ever, and then had a hole in one on the par 3 17th.....finished with a birdie on the 18th.....then made the mistake of ringing the bell at the 19th hole......

That's a great feeling when you come through like that.

I was in my brothers Invitational this weekend, same format. Went home Friday leading our flight. Lost both matches Yesterday 1 down. Lost flight by 1 1/2 points. Couldn't make enough putts.

You must have struck ball well to win flight easily. These things are usually handicapped well enough that teams are pretty even.

Great game though.

As someone who struggles to have a good round all the way through 18 holes I can definitely appreciate your accomplishment.
