Horrible news from Austin A-S that Don Baylor has passed. A remarkable man for his strength, courage and integrity.
A true Gentleman of the game. Damn feared right handed hitter in his prime. Had an unbelievable knack of getting HPB. RIP. Prayers go out to his family.
I loved Don Baylor. As a kid I used to emulate his batting stance, standing straight up and with that small kind of halo circle he used to do with the top of his bat waiting for a pitch.
He was known for getting hit with pitches, and I remember watching a game where he got hit in the neck with a pitch, didn't budge and just walked to first base.

awful news.
Yep that tough bastard never so much as shook or rubbed where he got hit, just trotted down to first.
The first 3 or games I ever went to, they lost. Finally saw a win when Baylor led off the bottom of the 10th with a walk off against the Twins. Summer of '83. RIP, but man.
