NFT: We lost someone special today

MadPlaid : 8/7/2017 4:12 pm
It is with deep sadness that I must let you all know that my dear big sister, schnitzie, lost her battle with cancer this morning. She did not suffer, and although we knew the end was near, her passing was still a shock. She hadn't posted on BBI in a while, but back when she did, she thoroughly enjoyed the witty banter that often accompanied the lively debates on the forum especially when they were good.

I know that she made a lot of friends through BBI, and kept up contact outside of the site. She would want you to know that she treasured the things about BBI that made it great especially its community feel and how so many times it was there to help people in need.

Cancer flipping sucks. Such a merciless blight on existence. Remember to keep those people who matter to you close, and to let them know often how much you cherish them.

RiffRaff and I and the entire Plaid family will miss schnitzie greatly.

Losing a family member is one of the hardest things to deal with. I lost my son right after his 20th birthday and 16 years later, it still hurts. Time does heal, but no amount of time heals completely. There will always be a hole in your heart for losing someone you love. The way I finally dealt with it is to conclude that we all have a limited time on this planet. My son was given 20 years and 3 weeks. But I wouldn't exchange him for anyone in the world so I could have a son that outlived me. He was given 20 years and it was my greatest blessing that God allowed me to be his father during his time on earth.

My prayers go out to you and your family to find peace and comfort.
Oh... my.

I am so sorry. I was wondering why I hadn't seen her post in a while. One of my all time fave BBI members, such an animal lover. I am so sad and many MANY condolences to you and her family Madplaid.
She was great on the Yankee threads...

I noticed schnitzie for sure when she came on the site; unfortunately for me I came on pretty much after a lot of the in-life, member to member gatherings. May she uplift you and her and your family with her spirit.
Heartbreaking

I did enjoy the few interactions that I had with schnitzie, and definitely enjoyed some of her epic thread replies.
Good thoughts and prayers for her family and friends. Hopefully the good memories you have will help with the enormous weight of loss.

If not, let me know and I will unsticky it.

No, this is much appreciated. Thank you for thinking this deserved a sticky. I guess schnitzie's impact in peoples' lives was stronger than I could imagine.
MadPlaid, I am so sorry

I remember schnitzie. I was wondering what had happen to some of the older long time posters and she was one of them. Very sorry to hear about your loss ... yeah, Cancer sucks. It is the one thing that I would like to see before I am done with life- some kind of real break through against the fight.

Anyway, prayers and thoughts.

R.I.P schnitzie!

The origin of schnitzie is simple. It was the nickname our father gave her. I think it was short for schnitzelbach or some nonsensical word my father liked to make up with a slight German bent. She was his little girl, so any time he'd call her, it was, "Hi schnitzie! What's going on?" Schnitzie this or schnitzie that. Very cute actually. No wonder she liked it so much. Perfect handle for on-line.

I just mentioned to my wife a few weeks ago that I hadn't noticed Schnitzie posting in a while. I used to show threads I came across with her in them to my wife to demonstrate that women can hold their own with men on football and stuff. This is a kick to my gut. RIP to a special lady. I will miss her wit.

RIP
Great woman, great person...

A. was a wonderful person. We were opposite on some things but she was alway wonderful to me and just an absolute doll. he got me. Its was like "OHHHH Paulie !!!, What did you do now????" when I got in BBI Jail... I never met her in person but we spoke on the phone when we got the 2 new cats here , and she was so excited "CALL ME!!!" and was so sweet when we lost our other cat.

I loved her heart as she shared stories about visiting the local firehouse after 9/11.. A was genuine lovely person and I for one thing the world suffered a bit with her loss. One of a kind
I will miss her I hope she is peaceful in Heaven and now her pain and suffering are over. We will see her again.. and I know shes in the company of a lot of Great Giants fans up there. Its her year.... God Bless you Andrea
I somehow missed this
