It is with deep sadness that I must let you all know that my dear big sister, schnitzie, lost her battle with cancer this morning. She did not suffer, and although we knew the end was near, her passing was still a shock. She hadn't posted on BBI in a while, but back when she did, she thoroughly enjoyed the witty banter that often accompanied the lively debates on the forum especially when they were good.
I know that she made a lot of friends through BBI, and kept up contact outside of the site. She would want you to know that she treasured the things about BBI that made it great especially its community feel and how so many times it was there to help people in need.
Cancer flipping sucks. Such a merciless blight on existence. Remember to keep those people who matter to you close, and to let them know often how much you cherish them.
RiffRaff and I and the entire Plaid family will miss schnitzie greatly.
My deepest condolences.
and fuck cancer.
I had no idea she was sick and feel terrible about that. She was one of a kind and she will be missed.
RIP, Andrea.
Some the debates she participated in got contentious, but more often then not, they also included a great deal of humor. She would argue well with anyone, so long as they debated intelligently. If they slipped and showed their less than intelligent side, there would be trouble.
Now, I am not entirely certain of this, but I pretty sure that the phrase, "blast her in the butt" was a schnitzie original. I think it was related to a debate regarding sexism and the inevitable crassness that men may sink to. I could be totally wrong about this, but I do recall that the first time I saw it, was in a schnitzie post.
I hope she got to witness the promise of Aaron Judge. I imagine she would have loved seeing that.
Damn.
All the best to your friends family during this difficult time.
Will miss schnitzie. She was a very good poster. My condolences to you both.
My deepest condolences to you both and to your families.
R.I.P. schnitz! I love you!
She will be dearly missed. wow, shocker
So sorry to hear.
All my best to you, the family, and everyone who was close with her. May she rest in peace.
Rest In Peace Quaker gal!
Thank you for letting us all know.

You are half-right. It was a schnitzie original, but it wasn't in relation to a debate on sexism. Funny as it may sound, it was simply advice she had for a BBI'er who was complaining about some girl he was seeing.

She will be dearly missed. wow, shocker
Wasn't A-Rod her "husband"?
You had to love how she would curse like a sailor in Yankees game threads, especially after a big win. She really brought the passion.
Thank you again for everything.
She will be missed here.
God bless you, schnitzie. My deepest sympathies Mad and Riffy.
Condolences to you and your entire family.
Rest in peace schnitzie.
Condolences to MadPlaid and Riff Raff
In her honor, I just raised a glass of Johnny Walker Black. She'd get the sentiment.
Sorry for your loss, guys.
And fuck cancer...

I only heard recently that she was terribly sick. I'm heart-broken by this.
I understand. She had a big impact on a lot of things BBI did behind the scenes. I'm sorry for your loss.
Schnitzie was instrumental in a contest I won on BBI back in 2010 that ended up sending me, my wife, my brother and his wife to a Giants game against the jaguars. We won club seats and got to meet former Giant Philippi sparks. It was an amazing day for everyone -- my brother cherishes that day still. He doesn't frequent BBI but I will be sure to tell him this sad news.
I'm so sad to hear this.
So sorry for your loss Madplaid and condolences to the family and many friends..may she rip. God bless
She'd like to relay the following:
My heart goes out to Andrea's family, she made a big impact on many many people with her heart, kindness and wit. I'm so sorry that you'll have such a hole to fill, but know how much she meant to so many people.

It is truly a sad day to learn that one so young and talented has succumbed. My heart is heavy with sorrow.
While schnitzie and myself were never two peas in a pod, she was a staple of this community. She will be missed.
God bless.
All the best
I met your Aunt a few years ago by odd circumstance. We exchanged funny schnitzie stories and talked of her love for her boys in blue (Yankees included) and those Persians!
Rest Easy dzahhlink. Muah muah muah.

All of my sympathy and condolences to your family MP
She was awesome. When she lived in Brooklyn we would see each other around occasionally and she was the biggest fan of the butcher and baker etc. on Court St. She loved that side of life. She was always talking about the flowers she was planting, and her cats. Then she'd appear on BBI and get on a good rip about something - it was all part of her personality. She will be missed, even from afar.
Just awful. I didn't even know she was sick.
So sorry to hear that...prayers to your brother.

My condolences. RIP.
I hope her memory brings you all some comfort and that you think of her with love and fondness every time the Giants and anything and anyone else stirs a beautiful memory of her, for the rest of your lives.
Don't know whether I can handle my first Giants season without my dad this year, but he would want me to try.
Blessings and kind thoughts to all of you who are saddened by this terrible loss.
She will be terribly missed.
But I always thought that I'd see you again.
