Head Coach Ben McAdoo

vs. Pittsburgh

Opening Remarks:

I’ll start off by talking about the effort we saw out there tonight. Some good effort out there tonight. We had a lot of work to do, and we got some good tape on some guys who were on the bubble – a lot of teaching tape. They’ll have the day off tomorrow to get their bodies right and get back to work on Sunday.

Q: How do you think QB Davis Webb did in his first NFL appearance?

A: I thought he had some ups and downs in there. He competed nicely, came out of the pocket, had some chances to make some plays, he did fairly well.

Q: What did you think of the offensive tempo when QB Josh Johnson was out there?

A: Yea, we were in and out of the huddle. There were sometimes we were at the line of scrimmage for a little bit, but I thought we moved the ball fairly well. We had a couple decent runs there early on, and had the chance to put the ball in the end zone there, but we’ve got to finish through.

Q: What do you make of the three sacks in the first quarter with your starting offensive line?

A: It was more than just the offensive line, it wasn’t just the offensive line. I’ll have to go back and take a look. There was a mistake on the outside where the quarterback had to eat the ball on one occasion. Then there was one extended play, where we had to throw the ball away. So, we can’t blame the offensive line.

Q: Was that supposed to be a screen pass?

A: Possibly.

Q: What did you see off of QB Geno Smith’s interception?

A: It looked like it was a blind throw.

Q: What’s your initial reaction to how QB Geno Smith did in his first game back?

A: He started off with a hot hand, completed the ball, it was unfortunate there on the turnover. I thought he had some good accuracy and managed the game well.

Q: How do you think K Aldrick Rosas responded to the kicker competition tonight?

A: I thought both kickers kicked real well. I’ve never been so excited to kick a field goal.

Q: What did you think of the running game tonight?

A: Again, there’s some good and some bad; there’s some bad and there’s some ugly. We need to clean it up and get better.

Q: Were you happy with CB Donte Deayon tonight?

A: Yeah, we wanted to get a good look at him, but he’s got to take care of the ball. That’s what stood out to me.

Q: What was your reaction today that Ezekiel Elliot was suspended for six games?

A: One team is enough for me to worry about right now.

Q: You don’t look at that at all?

A: I’ve got one team – that’s enough.

Q: What’s it like to have a guy like S Landon Collins?

A: Yeah, he likes to play. He likes to play football, he’s always around the ball, he has a nose for the ball, and he’s a hammer when he gets there.

Q: What do you think your team can do differently to convert those red zone opportunities into touchdowns?

A: Not run out of bounds before you catch a touchdown would be a good start.

Q: What did you think of your first-string defense?

A: Yeah, I just answered a question about Landon. Two three-and-outs, we like that.

before you catch a touchdown" - Priceless!!
Wasn't Donnell one of our guys

that would run out of the back of the end zone too?

No mention of dirty pockets?

I guess it only deserves mention when our franchise QB is in the game. When backup QBs are in the game, then there is nothing wrong with the OL except for an awesome screen pass for Flowers?

He could have also mentioned the back-up QB not seeing the 6'3" WR ten yards away from him doing jumping jacks in the end zone.

I thought Johnson had pressure in his face at the time, I'll have to watch again.
