Limited by the yoyo coverage of NFLN ...
Bright spots
Def starters mentioned in other posts ...
LB Munson, DE Taylor and CB Hunter on defense
TE Adams,, FB Smith and some flash from Darkwa
Expected more
QBs Johnson and Smith
Backup WR especially Lewis
S Berne and CB Deaton and CB Blake
Disappointment
Hoped LaCosse, Rudolph and Powe would get more chances
Overall ... no injuries, good start
One of the beat writers said Deayon was fine in coverage. I'll have to go back and look at the tape. But his size is a problem IMO. Let's remember though that most teams would droll to have Jenkins, DRC, and Apple as their first three CBs. Use Hunter as the 4th CB, and Deayon/veteran cut as the 5th.
Powe and Randolph are ahead of him IMO, but it's only one game, and the Giants may not even keep six WRs.
Engram made a nice read on a scramble when he turned upfield and was wide open only for Smith to throw the ball away.

+1
Between Rudolph Lewis and Powe, based on last night, I'm taking Powe.
(whoever that was)....chasing somebody from behind late
in the game after a reception. All I could think of was
Spider Lockhart. You see how it all comes together.
I think NFL films has EVERY film clip of Spider Lockhart
chasing somebody from behind, my goodness it seems that way.
Excluding the O Line for a moment, the depth at the
DB position is the biggest possible issue to me.
Hunter didn't turn his blocker in on the last touchdown run.
Deayon reminds me of Charles James?
The guy that was here for awhile, and then on Hard Knocks with the Texans.
If you can't hold the ball, can't be a punt returner,
needs to clean that up quickly. I don't see him as a nickel.
Bromley also looked great next Harrison. As a smaller, penetrating type DT he's actually a better compliment to Harrison than Hankins was.
He looks good, moves the team, and then he makes a critical mistake.
He should have had two interceptions one was called back due to a holding call.
That scares me.
Worry about Dayton's size; he's 5'9", about 160.
Jackrabbit is 5'10", about 195 ....
So it's about "Neon"'s weight, I d say, but most importantly can he play.
He's more athletic than Hunter, but he MUST stop dropping punts.
I want to see Taverres King's ankle heal and see him zooming down the field, like he did last year. Remember ?

control better when catching the ball I think he tries too
hard just making the catch . King is likely the next best
wr after the big three but he needs to get healthy and back
on the field . Lane Johnson and Powe all may be in the mix
but special teams is a big plus when your on the bubble
