Couldn't get into it. Didn't like it. I don't know why exactly.

I watch it on cable whenever I see it. I love Tome Cruise dancing to the Flo Rida "Apple Bottom Jeans" song. Plus I think the acting of Jack Black and Robert Downey is a riot.

If you went and saw it at the theater, they wrapped the fake trailers into the real previews and it was hilarious. Set the whole tone of the movie.

Great flick.

I do not think they'd get away with making it today; there would be so many think-pieces about how "problematic" it is.

Tropic Thunder was a huge hit when it came out

Tropic Thunder is under the radar classic movie.
it is getting more and more respect as a truly great movie

probably should have been nominated for Best Picture that year

Tropic Thunder is definitely better than most of these nominees

Robert Downey Jr got a best supporting actor nomination for his role
which is extremely rare for a comedy like this
He lost to Heath Ledger as The Joker

...until after it premiered so that audiences would be surprised it was him when the end credits rolled, but someone from the media got wind of it and let the cat out of the bag. He is the best part of the movie...
